Deuxième épisode de la série avec Mister T Records. Après les avoir reçu aux platines pour un Entrée Plat Disco dont on se souviendra et avoir proposé leur dernière sortie sur MTT (MTT003 dispo sur bandcamp) à l'occasion de l'un de nos accords disque et vin, les voicis pour notre deuxième mix décadent ! Jisco Astral aux manettes.

Mister T. c’est le mix protéiné d’une dizaine d’années d’exploration musicale chez 4 potes, obsédés par les musiques dansantes, qu’elles viennent du Brésil ou de Vitry. Avec 3 EP remarqués depuis 2018 sur leur label consacré à des edits Disco & Italo, ils sont toujours prêts à prendre les commandes des platines, entre Paris et Toulouse, pour faire découvrir les prochains artistes à suivre.
L’inaction relative de cette dernière année leur a permis d’étoffer leurs bacs et a donné le temps à John aka JISCO ASTRAL d’enregistrer un set à la suave chaleur baléarique, mettant en lumière une partie de sa collection qu’il n’a pas l’occasion de jouer en club.
Entre mix et sélecta, voici leur clin d’œil optimiste à la reprise de la vie culturelle et un avant-goût des prochaines sorties du label.


Mister T. is the powerful result of ten years of musical exploration by 4 friends obsessed with dance music, whether they come from Brazil or Vitry. With 3 noticed EPs since 2018 on their label dedicated to Disco & Italo edits, they are always ready to take the controls of the DJ booth, between Paris and Toulouse, to showcase the next artists to follow.
The relative inaction of this last year allowed them to expand their wax crates and gave time to John aka JISCO ASTRAL to record a suave balearic set, highlighting a part of his collection not too dancefloor oriented.
Between mix and selecta, here is their optimistic nod to the resumption of cultural life and a foretaste of the label’s upcoming releases.

1. One of our crew member did edits of 3 of the songs you played - do you also prepare your own edits? 

What a nice coincidence! Not yet at the moment, but who knows, maybe I’ll do edits or producing in general in near future :)

2. "Summer Breeze" are the two words that come to our mind when listening to that blissful mix - what did the summer bring to you in terms of sonic vibes? 

For me, typical summer vibes have a certain, groovy basic sound that brings a piece of lightness with it, often through catchy vocals and percussive instruments. In the house genre, piano and saxophone also convey a light, summery feeling for me, as you can easily hear :)

3. Italo disco, Italo house, Freestyle & Disco - we are pretty sure that nothing is older than 89' here, what is your relationship to these 80's decade?

I would describe the 80's as my favourite music decade. It's super multifaceted, because italo disco and house somehow became popular there and because of that it’s hard to differentiate the genres within a track sometimes and several influences are recognizable. My first records were from the 80's and to this day it hasn't changed much, most of my record collection is from the 80's.


4. The transition are pristine which is super complicated for mixing these genres, what is your little secret?

Thanks! It's not that easy, especially when you play vinyl and when it comes to a complete change of genre. You have to know your tracks very well and to try and practice a lot. Often there are short passages or bridges in the track which suits better for a transition than waiting until the end of the track because not much happens there, the vocals fall silent or similar.
