Happy new year y'all!

I chose to do a bootleg of this track, combining RP Boo's 'Superbust' with 'Bardwell's Disaster' by The Black Dog as both artists are heavily influential to my current style.  I wasn't able to find the track 'Superbust' anywhere except for RP Boo's amazing Fact mix, so in order to play it I had to make my own version.  I've been really feeling footwork and juke recently and in order to play it in a techno set, I have to slow it down about 25%, which makes the tracks feel weird and dark, fit in well with my general aesthetic. The words on the original are kind of unintelligible so I kind of made it up as I went along, but I think it turned out well. If you like it, I hope you go into a wormhole get into RP Boo and The Black Dog as they're both real legends and this cover/bootleg is an homage to them.

For our next @DarkScienceElectro premiere, we take a look a recently released compilation from Croatian label @CrobotMuzik - For this premiere, I selected my favorite track from the staggering 66-track release, which was extremely difficult to do given the stiff competition. Ultimately I landed on the track by French producer @Commuter 

This song immediately caught my attention with it's modulating bass line, dramatic pad sounds and a beautiful lead synth that cuts the mix of the song in the most appropriate way. This track features a 135 BPM pace, great use of synths like Neutron, Bass Station 2, Model D as well as a wide variety of digital synths. The rhythm of this track is a custom kit put together using both digital and hardware elements like the TR-08 and various samples from Native Instruments and others. Regardless of how the song was created, it is a real standout amongst some serious giants on this compilation featuring the likes of: @amper-clap, @adj-808, @brettaffects, @dibu-z, @terensk, @fleckescofficial, @dj-xed, @henryhearse, @magikbitum, @dark-vektor, @pl-anet, @dr-siak, @sound-synthesis-official, @datawave, @t-error-5 and many, many, many more.

As a child of the 80’s Commuter was Inspired by all electronic music he could find; ranging from acid house, EBM, Synthpop, Electro, Rap/Hiphop, New Beat,House, Italo,  early Techno and with a particular passion for Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk.
Since his recording debut in 2004 with the song ‘Electrostate of Mind , you can find his music on  labels like : Zone, Cultivated Electronics, Skryptöm, Elektrofon, Bass Agenda, AFU Limited, Space Factory, Goog, Citizen and BoysNoize records. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to remix various artists including Miss Kittin , John Lord Fonda, Captain Mustache or Nomenklatür,  and to collaborate on the Roentgen EP with The Hacker.
Commuter is also passionate about music technology and synthesizers and he works regularly as a sound designer for brands such as Arturia and Audiorealism.
