After an absence of two years, Leng are very happy to welcome back bass-wielding producer Fernanado Pulichino. The Natural 77 EP sees the experienced Argentine deliver another trio of tracks underpinned by his trademark warm, funk-fuelled basslines.
 
Fernando has packed a lot into his career since debuting with regular production partner Julian Sanza at turn of the millennium. Before the duo decided to go their separate ways, they delivered a string of fine deep house EPs as Cuidad Feliz, a fine debut album for Silver City, and formed part of Ralph Lawson’s touring live act, 20:20 Soundsystem. As a solo artist, Fernando released his debut album on Bear Funk back in 2013, and has more recently dropped singles on Cynic, Tusba and Futureboogie Recordings.
 
Given this vast experience, it’s no surprise to find that his third outing on Leng is an assured and varied affair. Opener “Backwards” sees Fernando strutting his electrofunk stuff, adding hazy guitar solos, spacey electronics and dubbed-out synth riffs to a rolling, boogie-propelled groove.
 
He channels the spirit of West Coast funkateers Steely Dan on title track “Natural 77”, expertly combining a rubbery bass guitar riff with sun-kissed guitar solos, freestyle vocal improvisations and a fluid, bongo-laden drum break. It’s a lazy, low-slung affair, but one guaranteed to incite excitable shuffling out on the dancefloor.
 
Finally, Fernando heads back towards Balearic disco pastures with the rich and evocative “Attic Party”. Delay-laden electric piano stabs, jammed-out bass and flanged, funk-fuelled guitar lines weave in and out of a mix dominated by trippy synthesizer motifs and deliciously glassy-eyed solos. You won’t know whether to wearily dance or lie down; either way, you’ll be escorted to another dimension by the Argentine’s gently mind-altering grooves.

Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Journey Series!

On this edition, we welcome @hhaller

Working his way through different parts of the electronic music scene in Berlin, Hamburg and Leipzig, for a long time H.Haller was looking for the right idea to settle for. Several years ago he experienced the enchanting pull of the mystical nights and days at electronic music festivals. What has most shook his consciousness was this new, loving encounter of community, which is resembled by those playful nights, when strangers meet under the shivering roofs of trees and stars. 

Reenacting these experiences of togetherness in the uniting strength of deep rhythms and heavy percussions is what describes H.Haller's sounds most precisely. In his versatile sets, he’s combining genres from slowed down Melodic House, Dark Disco, Deep House, always ready for a change - this is when the nasty beats and breaks of Future/Bass house come surprisingly in.

Australian / Dutch producer Ozzy (Oscar Jones) is releasing his new EP on Intercept, following up releases on HAAi's "Radical New Theory" label and Barnt's label "Schalen".
"Maersk", the name of Ozzy's new EP, features 3 tracks that explore the boundaries of dub, leftfield techno, and breaks. With only the age of 24, his sound is very mature and in our eyes groundbreaking to say the least.
The EP opens with "Aphatoon", a futuristic global bass inspired tune that moves on a slow tempo but doesn't shy away from bringing the heat. The track feels reggaeton inspired, but Ozzy's contrasting melodies bring something fresh to the genre.
"Gaan" is up next, which switches up the tempo and feel of the EP. The breaks and vocal make it sound UK inspired, almost akin to an act like The Prodigy. The combination of an emotional core with a raw, enticing synth is sure to take the emotional kids to the rave.
"Maerts" finishes it off and can be considered a 140+ bpm techno tune. It's an all-round trip meant for the peak of many techno sets. The synthwork moves the track forward in a sort of devilish emotional way, entrancing the listener and bringing them to ecstasy. We couldn't be more proud to have Ozzy on board, make sure to keep an eye open for more work to come.

Despite the fact that Avacha is based in the northwestern administrative district, actually it is based on the entire surface of the Russian Federation and sometimes beyond its borders. From the Far East to the outskirts of the European part of the map, the geography of Avacha residents is as wide as our country is and the music tastes are wide, specific and heterogeneous like the landscape of the Black Earth Region, the peaks of the Urals or the bottom of Lake Baikal.

On September 19, Avacha releases the “999% HITS” compilation. 8 tracks by domestic and not very domestic producers are designed to show the adequate side of contemporary music from Russia and the surrounding territories. The list of artists easily converts to the line-up of the best outsiders and underdogs festival.

Volta Cab opens the VA with an ethnic banger “Vertical Monopoly”, followed by duo Wolfstream and their Middle Eastern rockabilly track “Doctor Doctor”, then comes Alexei Kryuk's alter ego Bogdan who performs a nine-minute jam-passage “Drunken Swagga”, and Radial Gaze closes the dance question with the merciless "Micky, Licky Or Chicky". Conventional side B begins with a track with the self-explanatory title “It Was A Remix” from Panorama Channel, which will work easily both on the radio and on the dance floor, then Soft Metal calls upon all forces to break the disco with the hit “Humanism”, White Magik with its “Darkness” shows how disco sounds, mating with industrial under euphoretics. The wandering gang, Olta Karawane, ends with the song “Romanian Erotic Tradition”, which encourages all kinds of joy.

The pitched rooftops of post-industry, now home to starving artists and the socially-ravenous, boom with opposing force. As the remaining dregs of sunlight draw closed, summer babies are left to fend from themselves, whilst those with a fetish for night display their colours, or lack thereof. Where there was once pockets of socially-distanced warehouse dwellers, clambering for a break from their live-in greenhouses, the now desolate road is lined with deflated pools and an orchards worth of empty Scrumpy Jacks. 

Hailing from Utrecht, the Carista-manned United Identities releases its very first compilation, ‘Modern Intimacy Volume 1’. Across its 10 tracks, the album serves to showcase some of best rising talent across the Netherlands, with an eclectic mix spanning the electronic music spectrum. Our pick, ‘Dribble’ by Mary Lake, is an Acid Techno stomper of apocalyptic proportions. With its jacking rhythms and caustic bassline, the track makes us pray that the dancefloors open up just that little bit sooner.
