Mexico’s leading underground Duro Label is back with another incandescent EP, this time from Torreón based producer Macualay, who serves up fine three original deviant house cuts with a remix from Fabio Me Llaman Soltero. 

During last year's confinement, using the lowest lo-budget equipment and a microphone of dubious provenance, Macaulay together with his bastard clone DJ Papi created a new EP full of corrugated house, heavy kicks, fleshy basses and highly impure synths. 

Opening the pleasure feast  is ‘A Gozar’, a six-minute roller with ghostly buried synths, narcotic voices over  heavy drums and chubby bass. “Latinon”, the second original track and the first of the two collaborations with DJ Papi, is a HOT, clear example of Mexico's tech-mex sound at it's finest: an anthem for the sexy young souls of the forbidden latin warehouse party scene.

Up next comes “Meneitous”, a lewd lesson in total tension that takes the dancefloor to darker places. On the remix duties, Guatemala’s papi Fabio Me Llaman Soltero delivers a chunky tribal beat running through flailing percussion, delayed vocal sounds, and uncontrolled synths.

Spazio Palazzo are Joseph Tagliabue and Jacopo Beolchi. Two music diggers land on Esthetique Records from Milan with a melodious weapon of massive destruction that will bang the dance floor called  Altra Faccia that means The Other Face, an informal way to define the B side of a record.
Heavy beat, mysterious synths with a hint of arp and solid break that makes you feel travelling into space at the speed of light.
As an excellent bonus on the release there are also two remixes from the French maestro Dawad Vong who added the dancefloor drama to the original and which you can listen here in the exclusive premiere and the Mexican Cabizbajo. Play

Mankind is dying. Only one man can do anything about it, Space Captain Harlock, Harlock, the name of a fictional space pirate from a cult Manga film. When not being hunted by the Gaia Coalition and saving the human race, Harlock lends his name to the latest release from Shubostar.
Shubostar is nothing short of a rising star, a Korean Expat making waves in Mexico with releases on Physica and Controlla forthcoming as well as this tasty little number from her own label Uju records. Harlock nods to the 80s without ever getting derivative, this slab of cosmic disco does more than enough to remind us of Flesh by Split Second but without the darkness, and we all know that the absence of darkness is light! 
If this release is anything to go by, Shubostar is going to be the brightest thing in the sky come 2019.

@Relish is marking their 100th release by the launch of a compilation with careful selection of new tracks or inviting some of their favorite artists to create exclusive remixes of their old gems. This compilation includes artists such as Manhead, Kasper Bjørke, Justine, Curses, Flvn, Fringe Society, Mondowski, M Love, Headman, Niv Ast, Thomass Jackson, Theus Mago, Teniente, Castillo & Mufti, Colossio. We congratulate "Relish" for this accomplishment. 

Our pick for today is "Tatiana", a 2018 original release by @NivAst on Relish comp VI. While "@ThomassJackson" turned the original into a cowbell driven pulsating percussion jam.

Israeli producer Eliezer drops 3 cuts of post-punk influenced disco on Days Of Being Wild.

A prominent figure of the underground music scene in Tel Aviv for more than 20 years Eliezer is no stranger to Days Of Being Wild, having released the neurotic and anxious “With Screening” with his partner in crime Middle Sky Boom, back in 2016.
Since then Eliezer has been rather busy, releasing records with Eskimo, Unterman, Prins Thomas imprint Internasjonal (as Midnight Dicers) and La Dame Noir. 

His latest EP Haifa Mafia, released amid world wide confinement and paranoia on your favourite purveyor of disco noir doesn’t stray from his cold wave tendencies - pretty fitting for such dark and strange times. 

All cuts presented here are very much in the Israeli post punk/ wave sound we grew to like. 
There is minimalism and elegance in Eliezer production as well as a nod to retro industrial and electronic music from the early 80’s such as Cabaret Voltaire or Front 242. 
But with a very contagious exotic twist. 
The three tracks on offer here are constructed on repetitive and hypnotic disco bass, dusty percussions and oriental, languid guitar lines all colliding to create an airy and pulsating sonic landscape of dancing melancholia.
Children voices, whispers cascading through echoes, cryptic messages and vaporous synths contribute to the mix and create a dark, moody almost cinematic atmosphere enhanced by the general slow tempos of the tracks.

Closing the EP is an even slower slice of melancholy techno, Belgian producer Strapontin’s remix of Crown Zero chugs along the darkest alleys of clubbing with its claps lost in echoes and guitar trapped in tar, like these dreams where you run but feel like you are standing still, or where you try to escape but never seem to reach the exit.

This Album, a child of the Shelter Me Festival held in December 2020, is in aid of Shelter UK and the wonderful work they do helping people with homelessness or difficult housing conditions. The Festival took place for 3 days, across Manchester, London, and Leeds, and several of the artists who performed live at the event have contributed to this release. Among the 21 remixers: A Space Age Freak Out (SXDNS123), A-Tweed (SXDNS222), Bedford Falls Players, BTCOP, Clandestino, Dan Wainwright, Ed Mahon (SXDNS068), Jack Butters (SXDNS232), Man2.0 (SXDNS081), Martin Eve (SXDNS164), and Mr BC, just to name a few.

Steady State’s “Shake Up Your Mind”, the track used for the project, contains a vocal sample of Ofra Haza from her song “Im Nin Alu”. All remixes were created with the greatest love and respect, with one common goal: Helping others less fortunate than ourselves through music, unity, and a genuine will to make a positive change. Each and every one of the artists, producers, and mastering services have generously given their time freely to create a unique album of 21 remixes, spanning a colourful musical spectrum from dense dark dub-ness through timeless Techno and uplifting Acid to squelchy squalid chuggers. Something that cannot go unmentioned is that all the proceeds go to the Shelter UK.

The high quality of the remixes toughened the mission of choosing only one of the pieces to premiere. We succeeded, though, after some deliberation: Our homie Ed Mahon competently used his dark-but-groovy influences to deliver a punchy version of “Shake Up Your Mind”. It is as if he transformed the title into layers of elements to make people really pay attention through his version to the big issues raised by the project.
