As our universes collide, it’s hard to tell what is what. Whether you think this is a futuristic take on Eurodance with an 80s twist, Italo Body or Trance, that is totally up to you. Slouk @slouk is a French DJ and record collector currently based in Brighton, UK. He discovered the sound of arpeggios as a child, through the 80s Synth-pop tapes from his parents and CDs borrowed at the multimedia library. In his early twenties, he moved to Canada where he heard the sound of Hi-NRG and Italo on the dancefloors of Montreal. Ever since, he started to collect records. Slouk's musical journey took a darker path five years ago, while he was living in Berlin. It is behind the missed doors of the Melancholie 2 fridge and the Wrong Era parties that he discovered another facet of Italo and Dark disco... Through this mix, he tried to transcribe the dark and energetic atmosphere he experienced there.

Renaissance welcomes Notre Dame back to the label having previously remixed Mr Morek‘s 'Massive Landing'. Brimming with youthful energy and creativity, the Parisian producer and DJ has also released on Three Six Zero, Stil Vor Talent and Diynamic, not least his breakout ‘Yumi’ on the latter, so Renaissance is very excited to get him back onboard. His other accolades include Pete Tong's ‘Essential New Tune’ and touring all over the world, playing at a variety of influential clubs and festivals that includes Cercle Festival, Zamna, Space Miami, Womb Tokyo, KOKO London and more… 'Geisha' grew out of a deep fascination with Japanese culture, in particular the artisans from which it takes its name and the country’s renowned landscapes; it’s a perfect musical snapshot of the orient, which also features an ‘Intro Mix’, that’ll no doubt secure a place at the start of many a set.
