My submission to the #DisquietJunto 553 with the assignment: Record in a steady tempo but break it on occasion. It's a simple 8-step sequence. Gates from the 5th and 7th step are sent through a Bernoulli gate, which is set to 10%, to the reset intput. So on avarage 1 in 10 times step number 5 and 6 are played and 1 in 100 step 7 and 8. The gate from step 8 is connected to the Stop-input and a cymbel-sound, so after on avarage 100 cycles the piece will end with a crash. Every first step moves the second sequence which moves the bass and the melody and chords with it. The result is a simple tune that would nicely disappear into the background, except every now and then something happens that makes you look up.

(Diapason used here was 442Hz, and the sequence transposed back to its origianal key of F minor)).

According to mythbusting site Snopes, the ‘Crying Baby' Serial Killer Victim Lure is an urban myth, circulating since January 2003, purportedly relating to a serial killer operating in the Baton Rouge area of Louisiana, USA. It suggested the killer would leave a doll rigged with a tape recording of a crying baby on the doorsteps of lone women, to lure them out.  Coincidentally two later-convicted serial killers *were* independently operating there at this time, though neither used the ruse.
