Release Info: 
Stepping up for Oddity's next release is emerging melodic techno talent Coeus. He is no stranger to the label, having contributed to the latest Odd Echoes V.A and remixing EarthLife s Italia . This time he presents a three track EP, joined by the duo Alfa Romero on remix duties.

Serbian based Coeus has been steadily amassing support and can already claim that names such as Tale Of Us, Solomun, Adriatique, Dixon and more are behind his music. He played the piano from a young age and this early understanding of melody seeps into his music now. Characterized by deep melodic progressions he has forged a unique sound in this space.

The title track "Echoes" opens the package. It's everything you would come to expect from the Serbian, built on a drive drum track, the track is highlighted by a beautifully evolving synth line throughout. It takes you on a journey throughout and keeps the ear hooked.

Up next is "Hyper". Much like the name suggest this is an uptempo offering; the increase in BPM and the change of vibe aims this directly at peak times on the dance-floor. The expansive lush sounds of the opening track are swapped for some deeper, darker sound design and the overall outcome is a much more pulsing piece. Following comes the remix by the Italian duo Alfa Romero, who take the track to a more melodic and emotional terrain, printing their stamp on their reinterpretation.

Rounding off the EP is a final original offering by Coeus, "Eunaia". Vastly different to what we've heard on the EP so far, this shows us the spectrum the artist has. The track is based over a break style beat and paired with an ear catching arpeggio that draws you in. The weighty baseline pulls the track together and puts a fitting and emotive end to a very strong EP.

Desert Hearts Black welcomes yet another legendary act into its fold today: Township Rebellion, who’ve graced the label with a heady new single titled ‘Mosaik.’ A secret set weapon for quite some time now, “Mosaik” is a cinematic addition to the duo’s discography—outfitted with a roaring, brass-centric hook and spacey synth harmonies surrounding it. A strong bassline and percussion section add fervor to the finished product.

The trek through the shadows doesn’t end with Township Rebellion’s original work. Four artists have been brought on for remix duties, the first being mau5trap and Yoshitoshi champion Rinzen, who beefed up the low end and tempo whilst creating even more tension during his breakdown. Desert Hearts Black owners Marbs and Evan Casey take the stage next, taking a minimal approach with their rendition of the original for a piece fit for sunrise. Finally, up-and-comer Victor Pilava enters from the left field with a slowed down, mystical interpretation. Much like its name, ‘Mosaik’ as a whole is a colorful, multifaceted collection of tracks.

Township Rebellion have maintained a stronghold over the melodic techno world through the year, clocking in milestone releases. Most recently, they made their debut on the RÜFÜS DU SOL-led imprint Rose Avenue with their dynamic ‘2020’ EP—inspired by current events. They also joined award-winning New York Times journalist Ian Urbina during the summer for for Storming The Thunder—inspired by Interpol’s hunt for the world’s most wanted poaching ship. These solo collections bookended various remixes and original tracks appearing on their regular home of Stil Vor Talent.

“Mosaik” is the penultimate release for Desert Hearts Black in 2020, closing out a memorable second year for the subsidiary label. They have continued to draw in A-list talent for their repertoire, with Dance Spirit, Rinzen, David Scuba, Vanita, and Anakim making their debuts—not to mention, Township Rebellion. After taking an otherwise tumultuous year in stride, fans can expect continued quality as Desert Hearts Black enters into the new year.

PREMIERE: Township Rebellion - Mosaik (Rinzen Remix) [Desert Hearts Black]

'Maceo Plex’s Ellum Audio rounds out the year with a fantastic two tracker from Scotland based producer AVNU (UK).

AVNU (UK) is based on the East Coast of Scotland and was born Adrian Hossain. He has been immersed in music for 20 years, equally inspired by rock, soul and blues as he is disco, electro, techno, trance and rave. He had a busy 2020 releasing waves of new music and now lands on Ellum Audio with some brilliantly inventive new sounds and styles.

Opener ‘Ultraviolet’ is an excellently exuberant track with a party atmosphere thanks to the bristling drums and funky bass riffs. Layered over the top are epic melodic chords whilst some subtle vocal adds plenty of soul. Disco, techno and funk all collide in thrilling new ways on this most dynamic and original of tracks.
 
Then comes the brilliantly atmospheric ‘Infrared’, a darker, more pounding and heads down track. This is rolling techno funk run through with skewed synths that twist and contort endlessly while big hi hats and booming kicks power on into dark corners of the dancefloor. An epic breakdown builds further tension before the whole thing explodes to life once more.

This is a fine end to the year from Ellum Audio and a great statement from AVNU (UK).'

Leipzig music hero Marcel Sterling aka Marc DePulse is back home with another timeless and strong EP called "Born Sleepy", including new four originals plus a remix by Turkish icon and avant-garde mind @murat-uncuoglu.

The opening track is "Born Sleepy", a timeless weapon with sweet intro, powerful rhythm and mind-blowing breakdown. The huge "Nevertheless" connects DePulse's indie touch with his last EP on Sincopat: super high-class synths and melodies into the beloved 90's atmosphere. Murat Uncuoglu offers a massive remix taking the original to the dance floor in a sharp but respecting the essence of the original mix. "Spumanta" is also breaking the rules of electronic music with an unpredictable base and composition. And last but not least, "Hand Aufs Hertz" perfectly closes the EP, Marc DePulse shows once again how important it is to know the past to write the future, he delivers a new forward-thinking release.

To say Noemi Black has been on a fine run of form this year would be somewhat of an understatement. Following the critically-acclaimed release of her ‘Absorcol’ Remix on Dolma Red at the start of the year, the Polish-born techno maven has since enjoyed a hugely successful run of hard-hitting original releases and remixes on the likes of Black Nemesis Records, Eclipse Recordings, Prospect Records and two full EPs on her very own Technical Vibe imprint.

Now, as Noemi looks to wrap up another prolific year of internationally celebrated output, the hotly-tipped DJ, producer and label head makes her long awaited debut on Substeal Records as she delivers another flawless underground techno cut, with an official remix for Mallorcan producer @alberto-ruiz.

A dark, brooding and intense warehouse edit, primed for the early hours, Noemi’s juggernaut remix of ‘Inside’ makes up part of the huge four-part EP package, which will be available to buy and stream across all major DSPs on Monday, December 14.

Following this, Noemi will be closing out 2020 in style with another huge label debut, this time for Italian techno imprint, Black Vision. Due for release on December 21, stay tuned to Noemi’s social channels for further information and updates.
