Exclusive: Gozeom - Under Pressure

Hailing from Florence on the Elbe it is Gozeom who is up next on Miura Records delivering four deep and blissful tracks for his label-debut. The four-tracker, which goes by the name of Under Pressure, sees the artist sharing UK-Garage vibes with a touch of Deep House in the most pleasant still dance-able way. The title track, a 138 BPM fast, groover plays with chopped and sped-up vocals, which basically set the tone for the track as those add an almost choral touch before the actual melody of the track begins to shine and unites vocals and chords. Under Pressure is simply a little masterstroke as it gets on with very few elements but manages to combine those to an exceptional musical approach.

We're very excited to launch a new podcast series on our soundcloud channel called

REC03 - méta canal's pleasures

With his live shows & DJ sets, Claude B established himself as an emerging and promising figure on the french electronic scene, starting to perform in Nantes (FR) in 2021. 

He is the founder of the collective Solstice and later Mauvaise Ambiance in Paris with his friends & colleagues formerly of TRAX Magazine, and he navigates in his productions through varied inspirations from pure techno to more experimental electronic works.

His latest EP, Spectral Matters, demonstrates an accomplishment in his recording techniques but this new EP Newbie is more intimate. Concluding the EP on a softer but equally intense note, with expressive synths, soulful melodies, plenty of percussion and white noise and a driving trance bass, Newbie reaches a state of acceptance and places both artist and listener in a fresher world where they can finally rebuild.

//Was bedeutet deine Musik für dich?//
Zum einen fasziniert mich wie die Tracks, die ich spiele, aufgebaut sind. Ihre Struktur, der Rhythmus oder auch einfach einzelne Elemente. Zum anderen transportiert Musik für mich Emotionen und bestimmt oft meine Stimmung. Ich möchte mit meinen Sets vor allem positive Gefühle erzeugen und hoffe, dass die Menschen, die sie hören, eine gute Zeit und Bock auf Tanzen haben. 

//Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?//
Hauptsächlich von anderen (Lieblings-)Künstler*innen. Oft suche ich bewusst nach neuer Musik und orientiere mich dabei an Artists, Labels oder Sets, die ich mag. Außerdem höre ich generell sehr viel Musik und stolpere so immer wieder über neue Tracks. Aber auch auf Events finde ich oft Musik, die ich in meine Sets einbaue.

//Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern?//
Auch wenn sich schon einiges getan hat, würde ich sagen, dass die Szene diverser und offener werden muss. Ich sehe immer noch viel zu wenig BiPoC, FLITNA* oder queere DJs hinter dem Pult oder kann Musik, die sie produzieren, kaum finden. Auch wenn bei Events auf Diversität geachtet wird, fehlt die strukturelle Ebene oder die konsequente Umsetzung von Konzepten dann leider doch zu oft und die Gestaltung der Räume wird - gern über Vitamin B - von denselben weißen cis-Dudes dominiert.
