When the demo of ‘Scorpio Rising’ landed in our office, we knew immediately: this has to be released in the summer! A hook is a hook is a hook. And what Lannakise sang into the mic for LOPEZHOUSE is definitely a big hook with barbs that sticks in your head. A pristine pop house masterpiece from the La Mancha native. The remix by Scottish techno legend Funk D’Void brings a deeper perspective to the mix which recalls Kompakt’s golden era sound of the 00’s and unfolds its full beauty in the early hours of the morning.

Anna Schreit is a Berlin-born DJ and producer known for sets that cut across genres with a mix of groove, grit, and edge. Growing up in a musical household – her father the frontman of East Germany’s cult art-rock band Stern Combo Meissen – music was never just background. For Anna, it was a way to make sense of things.

Raised in the middle of Berlin’s techno scene, it wasn’t until a night out in Munich that things really clicked: a chance encounter with house music lit the fuse. The rhythm, the warmth – it stuck. From there, she dove deep into sound.

Since 2012, she’s been building sets that go beyond the obvious. From sunrise slots at Sisyphos, to stripped-back live streams on HÖR or The Lot Radio, to records like her Duck EP on Compost, Anna brings a sound that’s raw, grounded, and unmistakably her.

One highlight: her ARTE Concerts set – a moment that took her sound to a wider audience without losing its edge. As a resident at Sisyphos, she’s become a steady presence in Berlin’s underground – not chasing trends, just playing with intent.

You might know Ben Evers from Adana Twins – but this one's all him. Stepping out solo, he’s dialled in a sound that hits hard and stays with you. His remix? A peak-time weapon. Tight arrangement, proper weight, and a sonic punch that could rattle the mainstage. Every detail locked in – made for the floor, no fillers.

Matt' Radio Slave' Edwards and Joel Martin's critically acclaimed Quiet Village project follow-up, 2024's 'Reunion' with the Vanessa Daou collaboration, 'Naked Hunger' on September 5th, '25.

'Naked Hunger', which comes in 'Vocal Mix' and 'Spoken Word Mix' versions, sees Quiet Village employ their hypnotic sensibilities to one of house music's most tantalising vocal talents in Daou, resulting in a mid-tempo house cut that completely envelops.

While the vocal mix of 'Naked Hunger' leans into the interplay between Vanessa Daou's cosseting song voice and spoken vocals, with the rest of the track embracing a subtly dubby ethereal musicality, Quiet Village ramp up the instrumentation on the 'Spoken Vocal' version with bass guitar and piano flourishes accompanying her sultry poetic delivery.

'Naked Hunger', Daou's first collaboration with Quiet Village, marks her first release since 2019's 'Little Black Dress'.

Throughout her illustrious career, the acclaimed three-time #1 Billboard Dance Chart topper has collaborated with Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Mood II Swing, Ralphi Rosario, Terry Farley (Farley & Heller), Charles Webster, Horse Meat Disco's Severino Panzetta, Hifi Sean, and Eli Escobar.

Friends since meeting at Goldie's legendary MetalHeadz sessions at London's Blue Note in the '90s, Quiet Village, aka Matt Edwards and Joel Martin, began releasing their brand of dubbed-out, balearic-and-beyond tracks in 2005 via NYC's Whatever We Want Records. The duo's 2008 'Silent Movie' LP was a critical smash hit that resulted in remix commissions for the likes of Bryan Ferry, The Gorillas, Leftfield, Francois K, Massive Attack and many more.

After a few years in the wilderness, unable to use their nom de plume due to contractual restrictions, the pair launched The Quiet Village label in 2024 with 'Reunion', a stunning 6/8 time urban jazz odyssey, a favourite of the likes of Luke Una, Gilles Peterson and Ryan Elliott.

Here’s a little amuse gueule for the 25th edition of our beloved TOTAL compilation series which will drop on the 10th of October. Gui Boratto has been an integral part of Kompakt’s history for a while and we’re elated to welcome him back to the fold with his latest creation “Panorama X-Press”. Gui’s incredible production prowess is fully on display here. A funky, chunky bassline paths the way for what we believe is one of the Brazilian’s wildest forays into psychedelic terrains to date. A true rollercoaster of a track!

"You Make Me Feel" was the first outtake from Steve Bug's second Poker Flat album "Sensual". Slowly but unmistakebly building up a hypnotic groove with a rolling percussion loop, ice-cold snare and hollering vocal (reminiscent of Gainsbourg's "Bonny and Clyde"), Bug forces you flashing your sharpest dancing routines even before he throws in that distorted, take-no-prisoners, Saunderson-style organ-bassline. Flip over for another version that's served up straightened-out and stripped down yet still manages to come up with a higher percentage of FUNK. Another totally satisfying five star menu for the Poker Flat gourmet.

Copenhagen based Kasper Bjørke has released his music on labels like Hfn Music, Plant Music, We Love This, Fine, etc. and has remixed everything from Trentemøller, WhoMadeWho, Visti & Meyland (Eskimo) to The Ting Tings and FM Belfast. Kasper has recently launched the touring party concept Superbacon as well as the new production outfit “Bjørke & Barfod”, releasing their first 12” on Tensnake ́s label Mirau together with his old studio buddy Tomas Barfod (Get Physical/Gomma/Tartelet). 
Kaspers own 2nd solo album “Standing On Top of Utopia” was released in February 2010 on Hfn and instant became a darling with the international press. Dazed & Confused, Nylon Magazine, Artrocker, Time Out NYC, DJ Mag as well as numerous blogs like Big Stereo and Dummy were full of praises. - Especially the singles Young Again, Heaven and Alcatraz gained a lot of hype and chartings in clubland as well. The Jimpster remix reached #1 on Beatport Deephouse chart and stayed there for more than 3 weeks. Other remixers contributing to the albums singles include Serge Santiago, WhoMadeWho, Prins Thomas, Nicolas Jaar, Lopazz & Zarook, Kenton Slash 
Demon, Zombie Disco Squad and Muzzle Flash. 
However, this new 12" release "Go Away Song" on Compost Black, is only the 2nd release as  “Kasper Bjørke and His Friendly Ghost” - Kaspers own solo alter ego for the more minimal techno/house releases and remixes. 
"Go Away Song" features Danish singer Josephine Philip and appears as quite a dark and emotional piece of housemusic - but with the weird loops and beautiful lead vocals by Josephine, as well as the percussive parts and bass synth elements, there is surely crowd controlling potential for the late night sets as well. 
Wareika has done an effective remix with their trademark of quirky guitars and synths and Danish new talent Holtoug takes the track in a whole different direction with some highly musical inputs.
