Behind every track or remix is a little story to tell and the story behind Fred und Luna's first remix ever is quite bizarre. But before Rainer Buchmüller alias Fred und Luna could work his 'Kraut-Skills' on Peter Pardeike's remix his computer was completely down. But Rainer would not be Rainer if he did not come up with a plan. The Karlsruhe resident jumped onto the next train to Berlin to meet up with his friend Achim Treu alias UFO Hawaii, who bailed Rainer out of this misery and helped him set up this 'krauty' remix.

Peter Pardeike's 'Love Supreme Remix EP'  including Fred und Luna's remix will be out September 18th on Connaisseur Recordings.

A mesmerizing trip from Krautland through Electronic Fields to Hypnotonia‒exploring the textures of haunting melodies, lucious dreamscapes and tribal, dancefloor-ready beats. After their highly acclaimed debut album “Im Klanggarten” (on Bigamo – label of Frank Wiedemann / Âme), this is Fred und Luna’s next fascinating step in their “Elektrokraut/Krautelektro” series.

Who are Fred und Luna?
"Fred und Luna" are two mannequins living in a fashion boutique in Karlsruhe, Germany. They serve as muse for musician, lector, poet and photo/video maker Rainer Buchmüller.

Inspired by his doll friends and his love for German electronic music of the past decades, Rainer Buchmüller under the alias “Fred und Luna” produces his self-created genres Elektrokraut and Krautelektro: both a modern combination of repetitive rhythms, beautiful melodies, electronic soundscapes and elements from the Krautrock era.

Under the name of “Ariston Baton” Rainer Buchmüller also writes and performs sound poems and concrete poetry. On live events and especially on exhibitions Ariston Baton is joining “Fred und Luna” and Rainer Buchmüller’s third identity “Vizudaru Nono”, who is contributing video and photo projections. Together they form the so called “Equipe Nadaphysique”. The next exhibition featuring all three named personalities will take place end of October 2018 at Rockomotives Festival, Vendôme/France. 

A brief history of Fred und Luna
Having previously released the EP “Glück auf” on the Scottish label Optimo Music and being remixed by Prins Thomas for the Berlin label Innervisions, the year 2017 saw Fred und Luna feature their debut album “Im Klanggarten” on Frank Wiedemann’s (Âme, Howling) newly-founded label Bigamo Musik.

After the first editions of both the EP and LP being sold out quickly, live shows in Germany, France and England followed as well as remixes for Peter Pardeike (Connaisseur Recordings) and a common release with Trikk on Innervisions, among others.
A team-up with Achim Treu (UFO Hawaii) resulted in several remixes for international musicians.

Exclusive  Stimming & Worgull - Cwejman's Tale

Two of the scene's most divine and iconic producers, namely Martin Stimming and Marcus Worgull, team up for their debut EP Eiger Nordwand on Henrik Schwarz's Sunday Music Records. And while the EP's title track is – at least when it comes to the name of the track – referring to the Alps Cwejman's Tale tells the story of “a lonely wolf“ who had already worked on the bass line before the Rhenish blithe spirit Marcus Worgull joined because his train had been late. But the passionate artist of course added his note to the track, specifically the organic sounding and hunting lead synth-melody is an ideal co-production of the befriended artists and is, in the course of the track fortified with single but not singular piano sounds giving Cwejman's Tale a slightly melancholic yet peaceful vibe that could easily represent the harmony of Martin's and Marcus' eleven year long lasting friendship, which is musically captured in this track and the EP.

Stimming's and Worgull's mutual EP Eiger Nordwand will be released on Sunday Music Records April 17th, 2020.

On May 22, Dutch producer @barilmusic will release his debut EP "One More Rush". The release features six dreamy, lo-fi sounding works. It can be seen as a mini-album. Baril previously released “Vocales" on Intercept, and more club- focussed tracks under his real name, Marc Holstege.

"When I started producing music I also started releasing things pretty quickly. That was cool and I don't regret it. However, over the years, my taste in music has changed and I feel that I only recently have found my real sound."

And what a sound he has found. On "One More Rush" he strikes balance between breakbeats, melody, emotion, vocal samples, and soundscapes. This is music to dream away with, to listen to at home, but also to hear on dance-floors. When we can again, of course. A wonderful debut!

Their version adds new energy to the kraut-ish original, turning it into an eclectic dancefloor weapon for the late summer nights.
