We live in hectic, turbulent times. It seems season- and reasonable to slow things bit down. In fact: slow house down to what we calling now: SLOUSE. Implying down to earth club music, with a tapping foot under 116 beats per minute.
House music and its many sliding genres have ruled the clubs and charts, well, a special focus on the slo-mo house is well-deserved.

Rainer Trueby became a guarantee for vanguard soulful dance music and club tunes with such special vibe, which he had formidable approved not only as a DJ but also with sucessful compilations like „Glücklich“, „Maiden Voyage“ on Compost, DJ Kicks (K7) or compilations for Nuphonic, King Street, Talkin’ Loud and other labels. The title track fits perfectly with their long-established signature sound of intimate and psychedelic electronic music for the more leftfield leaning music lovers.

Straight from the get go the track exudes a psychedelic warmth as a humid, swirling pad maps out goosebumps along the listeners spine and delayed vocal blobs flicker and gently fizz. Unapologetic piano chords burst in and gallop in lockstep with a chugging Italo bass line as the mood continues to rush.

Palms grow moist and pupils widen as snare fills punctuate progress and eventually a bittersweet vocal pours in carrying the raw emotion of the final moments of a long, transportive rave. While some guys will tell you now it’s all computers, at Turbo we know in our hearts that everything in life can be understood as a funhouse mirror. Sascha Funke’s massive 2017 hit “MZ” is one of the most iconic house records ever released on our label, and thus deserving of the ultimate honour: a remix pack reflecting each of the manifold facets of a modern dancefloor classic from the most prestigious and respected angles imaginable.

As studious Turbo watchers have no doubt clocked*, we have paid access to the halls of European power, where you get to make backroom deals with Emmanuel Macron and British Seinfeld as Opus’ “Live is Life” blares over a gigantic bluetooth speaker. And, yeah, you’ll probably run into the most celebrated European producers of our time. Pional, Axel Boman, Mano Le Tough, and Roman Flügel — these are the kinds of names you only see once you’ve reached the highest levels of success, be it in dance music production or purchasing the hottest tickets in town on your favorite mobile device. We called each on these titans to anoint “MZ” into the modern pantheon of club anthems, and you can bet your last eurobond that they delivered. But we also wanted some new blood, so we turned to rising Lithuanian superstar DJ JM. JM is now a deep part of the Turbo family, and he’s made the theoretical space between bad-boy cousin and beloved nephew fully his own with what we hope Rolling Stone Magazine will call “a distinctively modern edge."

Since the remix work always played an important role for Compost, it ́s high time to give some of the best house and techno producers and remixers credit for their deluxe reworks of our repertoire! 
Rupert & Mennert did already a great job with compiling the Jazz Selection (Vol.1&2), the Downbeat Selection (Vol.1) and recently the Experimental Selection. With this first Remixes Selection, the focus is on club music, so our two dutch selectors chose nine deep remixes by the house experts Henrik Schwarz, Whignomy Bros., Llorca (Art Of Tones), Ripperton, Makossa & Megablast, Sasse, Dixon, Christian Prommer and Chopstick & Johnjon. 


Who are Rupert & Mennert?
They reside in Den Helder, The Netherlands. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. From there they send their fine radioshow into the wide world. The show is currently re-invented. The Sound of Swound ran for more then 200 shows. But it will be replaced by something even better: “Weird Pigs - not for copycats”. This will also run on www.djbroadcast.fm and www.play.fm.
Besides their love for broadcasting they produce music too. Together with Me Raabenstein they released, as Lagerfeltz, an album on Nonine Recordings, Berlin. Together with remix-work for Energie du Verre and Ensemble du Verre (Batterie Records, Hamburg) their release-roster is building. A remix on this very label is also in the making.

Again a dancefloor oriented remixes selection from self-proclaimed Compost Head Selectahs Rupert & Mennert. After the first successful volume they dived into some other genres, but the fine tracks that were left out in the first edition were always whispering and luring them back. So they started selecting again and after a while a new mix was assembled with maybe even bigger remixers. Maybe even the biggest that Compost ever released.

In this new 60 minute selection you can hear absolutele stunning performances by Peter Kruder, Carl Craig, Christian Prommer, Zed Bias, Llorca (Art Of Tones), Marcus Worgull and more! Made for the dancefloor, this mix is something you want to dance to.
