About Yuu Udagawa

Tokyo-based Yuu Udagawa inspired by a diverse range of genres, including Nu-Jazz, Kraut Rock, Hip-Hop, Minimal House, Detroit, and Electronica, is continuously exploring a unique style that captivates a broad audience. Her profound love for the sounds of analog synthesizers breathes an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere into her electronic sound. Her music offers a captivating fusion of uplifting and soothing elements, embodying Aristotle's philosophy of the golden mean, which she adopts in her endeavour to contribute to society. 
Yuu, who studied art and philosophy in high school, has since performed at clubs, festivals and fashion shows and is now a regular in the lounges of five-star hotels like the Park Hyatt Tokyo, showcasing her versatility as a DJ. Drawing on her insights and extensive experience in creating musical atmospheres in various spaces, she continues expanding her musical creation journey. 
In 2010, she composed "Blossom," the main menu BGM for Sony PlayStation 3 (Torne and Vita), captivating gamers. After that, she released several tracks for various projects. In 2021, her music caught the eye of German artist Manuel Tur, leading to her music being released through prestigious labels such as Compost Records in Munich, Germany, Cyphon Recordings in London, founded by Jimpster and Tom Roberts, to the up-and-coming Cosmocities Records in Dijon, France, and the popular Razer- N-Tape in Brooklyn, USA. These collaborations have boosted her international visibility. She was invited by Freerange Records in London to deliver a DJ MIX on Apple Music to celebrate International Women's Day 2024. 
Beyond music, Yuu creates immersive soundscapes for various spatial environments, such as museums, installations, spas and aquariums. Her portfolio boasts remarkable achievements producing 7.1 channel surround sound for 3D hologram theatres. One of her notable works is her sound installation 'Water Crest', an immersive audio experience by Sony's 360 Reality Audio, which was exhibited in Japan's first immersive museum, which featured masterpieces by Monet, Degas, and other Impressionists and drew in 170,000 visitors.

We end the year with the second in our series of The Coin EP’s featuring a different artist on each side. In case you missed Volume 1 - TLM033 it featured Cumulative Collective and Re:Fill in September 2023.
	This time on side A we have Italian brothers The Robinson who have previously released their track Song 1 on TLM034. They are back once again with two superb jazz infused house tracks, Passion Is The Key and A Satisfying Day. Both ideal for the dancefloor.
	Moving onto the AA side and someone who has become a TLM regular, namely Japanese artist Takahiro Fuchigami who supplies us with three amazing tracks; Jazzing Bird, How’s That Sound? and In Motion. Fantastic broken beat from one of Japan’s rising stars. We caught up with Andy Hickford, part of the Downtown Science collective to to talk about next week's event here in Leeds in support of Ashley Beedle, who in recent times has been faced with a number of health complications.

The event is taking place on Ashleys birthday, 25th November at Belgrave hall with a list of music selectors dropping in to soundtrack a night that hopes to raise funds to further support Ash in his recovery

Ashley Beedle needs no introduction, he is  one of the UK underground scenes early pioneers, a name synonymous with house, roots, soul music his contributions are woven deep in it's tapestry. From his early Ballistic Brothers and Black science orchestra productions he has gone on to produce under numerous monikers including Black Jazz Chronicles  DarkStarr, Afrikanz on Marz, Heavy Disco, Los Jugaderos, Mavis, North Street West and many more

Camp Cosmic 2017 Memories

‘Tunnels’ begins with a flurry of drums before being enveloped by sub-bass pressure, like stepping directly into a basement club in full flow. As the track climaxes, saxophones sweep the air like green-spoked lasers overhead, creating a contrast of pinpoint clarity against the background atmosphere. Though sonically well outside Bristol’s dubstep legacy, it accurately portrays the smudged perception of a peak time rave. On the flip, we find the more introverted 'First Light', wherein the group downshift from the buzz of a bustling room to the hum of one’s head as dawn breaks. It is a moment of spacious solitude shared only, as Cunningham pictures it, with “swans fighting over polystyrene chip boxes” in the canal below.

DJing in the Berlin underground and at parties and Festivals in Europe, he always brings the good vibes w/ the finest 80's funk, disco, cosmic and edits.

For Music for Indoors, he took the breezy side streets of his musical taste, teasing us only at the mix's end, with the prospect of arriving at a party where he's playing.
