Gearbox has become one of the most surprising success stories within the hard dance world over the past few years after starting life as a weekly radio podcast, broadcasting to no more than 20 people each week. Since then, it went on to become a household name within both Hardstyle and Hard Dance, broadcasting to over 4000 live listeners every week with thousands of downloads to boot. Gearbox also went on to host events that have seen names such as DJ Thera, Geck-o, A*S*Y*S, Fausto, Phil York, plus many others travel to the north of Scotland. Then there was the beginning of Gearbox Digital, the label which is now being regarded as one of the most exciting new labels for Raw Hardstyle and the label which won Hard Dance Label of the Year at this year’s Hard Dance Music Awards. 
Label owner, Desudo, has always believed that this success was going to culminate in something special, and with the release of this brand new double CD album, it has done just that! 
Mechanical Warfare tells the story of the battle raging between Hard Dance and Hardstyle, every artist a soldier who has been paired with a machine counterpart, in order to fight for their genre’s success.

Mechanical Warfare attempts to do something which no other album of this kind has done before. Mixed by Splinta and the vocals provided by Rebecca Purse, each transition tells the story of the war as it continues by introducing each artist and their mission objective before each track begins. We firmly believe that this album is one of the best Hardstyle album of recent times and possibly the best ever Hard Dance album to be on offer. It will prove to be a massive catapult in firing these artists to the forefront of the Hardstyle and Hard Dance scene, where they will hopefully continue to receive the support and recognition that they deserve after being part of such an incredible album.

The album will be available from the 11th of October, the first hard copy sales on offer to attendee’s of the Royal Madness presents Gearbox Labelnight Showcase at the De Vorstin club in Hilversum, Netherlands. This night is a showcase of all but a few of the Hardstyle artists who have produced tracks for the album, plus the special guest headliner, Crypsis.

Mechanical Warfare includes 15 original Hardstyle tracks and 13 Hard Dance tracks, covering the full spectrum of Hard Dance and Hardstyle. Compulzion is a label set up by Louk and based in the South West of England. Compulzion aim to release rather dark trance and techno. Compulzion started life in September 2005 as a basis of promoting various record labels tracks to DJs, Press, Radio and potential licensees. This was followed in 2007 by the first Compulzion event which was an outdoor free party which took place in Devon. The decision to set up a record label came academically, as whilst studying for the final year of his degree, Louk decided for his final year project to set up a record label, which releases both on Vinyl, and digital (with all digital releases being sold three months after the Vinyl releases are on sale).

How Compulzion Works:

With the production of music becoming much more affordable than previously, there is a staggering amount of talent worldwide which is often overlooked by the bigger labels.  Most labels prefer to sign aritsts to make albums and singles for them over the contract term.  This creates an unnecessary tie with the artist.  Compulzion sign releases on a track by track basis.  You are free to take your next release elsewhere if you are not happy with what the label can do for you.  Compulzion even provides a detailed breakdown of expenses and all sales in a statement to the artist so you know where money has been spent and accrued for your release.  With the only criteria being that it has to fit the sound of the label and kick ass!
