As a longtime fan of the Sabres of Paradise - I was so stoked to hear that there would be a final release of Lick Wid Nit Wit that I decided to produce a remix of this incredible track. The original track was written by Andrew Weatherall, Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns.

This remix samples the rolling bassline with everything else built and programmed around that. I toyed with the idea of adding in some of the Sabres of Paradise - Wilmot samples and inspiration but opted for a different vocal chop and synth melodies.

Riotvan no. 10 – what a nice jubilee! And a perfect catalogue number to take a look at our back catalogue up to now and at the same time look ahead at the things we might cast in vinyl at some point in the future. Riotvan isn’t just a reflection, but also an inherent part and impulse in the electronic music scene of Leipzig. Gathering the inner circle of the Riotvan cosmos on one record for the first time, thus, seemed like a very logical step.

So RVN010 is the first so-called Various Artists in our roster. At the same time it marks the beginning of a new series, which will regularly lead our close and new friends on the field from now on.

This issue features: Good Guy Mikesh, who buffs up tapered sound sequences into the little slo house gem “Sparkles”. This is also the first new track on Mikesh’s release account ever since his EP “Year of The Horse”, which came out on Riotvan as well.
Then there is the hyper-dynamic “Marque Di Yard” by routine sidestepper Panthera Krause, which ogles with broken beats and should whet the appetite for his second Riotvan EP, due to be released soon. With “Perlenkette”, Filburt drops his first solo work in the label history – a tenderly whispered track from alien spheres with hit potential not to be underestimated.
Afterwards, Jennifer Touch, who recently released a project with Keinemusik’s own Adam Port on Pets Recordings, returns to her solo roots, delivering sleepwalking synth pop melancholia. Here, too, a new artist EP on Riotvan is in the making. If there’s one label which can be ascribed a certain like-mindedness towards Riotvan, it’s undoubtedly Permanent Vacation. Therefore, their puppet master Benjamin Fröhlich rounds up this compilation with “Star Fox”, which steers a middle course between direct and self-forgotten house bounce. Finally, on “Walking In Melbourne” Llewellyn plays out those house sketches which might be a bit too stringent for his alter ego Lake People, obviously not without infusing a fathomless deepness to its floor aptitude.

2016 truly will be the year of Mordisco. The Granada-based duo is not only hosting big-time events in their hometown but is extremly active producing disco and disco house tunes that already found their way to legendary disco labels like Midnight Riot! With their latest EP 'Caliope' the ambitious Spaniards wrote an ode to one of nine daughters of Greek god Zeus which goes by the very same name. She was known to be a muse who presided over eloquence and epic poetry and the guys really found inspiration and a musical spirit through her to create a piece of disco history. Enjoy uplifting pianos, 80s vocals as well as warm disco basslines to prepare yourself for the upcoming summer!

I'm sure you already know those guys... Compuphonic recently released "Sequoia" on Moodmusic & Kolombo is the one who recently composed "Waiting for" released on Kompakt. Those two guys are used to working together. I'm sure you remember their "Emotion EP" on Tiga's Turbo Rec. Anyway... Compuphonic & Kolombo decided to work together again which works out perfectly because Union Match Music is about joining forces. There are 4 tracks to be released in two parts. 4 housy tracks, sometimes shiny, sometimes deeper but always melodic & soulful.
Well... Talking about music is like dancing on architecture. Besides, I'm pretty sure you didn't take the time to read those words ;) So let's skip to the music! Why don't you see by yourself & tell us your thoughts?

Born in 1983 in Liège, Belgium, Maxime Firket grew up surrounded by music. He studied music theory and classical music at the Academy and did not choose the easy route by opting to study the cello. "A demanding and monodic instrument which forces you to find the right sound and the right note to make yourself heard. My cello background is still useful to me today." As an adolescent, he dreamt of playing in a rock group, but also discovered Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Front 242 and Detroit techno. After having created his own studio and put together a few mixes on a Roland Compuphonic synthesiser (yes, that’s where the name comes from...), Maxime soon found himself behind the decks at Dirty Dancing nights in Brussels and recorded his first tracks for Dirty Dancing Recordings. In 2006, his reputation exploded on the dance floor with the groovy "Emotion", produced in collaboration with Tiga and released on his label ‘Turbo Recordings’.
 
Compuphonic’s dedication and elaborateness delivers spontaneous productions of hedonistic house. Natural, open to large spaces, ambitious but always accessible. Handling music as the art form it is. Alternating complicated with simple pieces, electronic with organic, light with dark, ease with emotional, celebration with pondering. Telling a different, but in its way even more exciting new tale, time and time again.
 
His underground hit “Sunset” ft Marques Toliver reached over 10 000 000 views (and counting) on YouTube and got support on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Rob Da Bank and key media / blogs.
 
More recently his releases ’Radio Atlantis’ and ‘The Sun Does Rise’ on Berlin’s  super label Exploited Records  have picked up great support by radio stations and bloggers worldwide and after playing shows at Pukkelpop, Dour Festival, Eurosonic, SXSW, Sonar Festival, Monegros,, he's set to become one of Europe's best known too.
 
His new EP “My Love” is expected mid November on Exploited Records. In the meantime  we invite you to have a listen to his  popular “Tales” (mixtape) episodes on Soundcloud.
