Today marks nineteen years since the release of their sophmore album, Do You Want More?!!? Over the last two decades we've seen  The Roots grow from small stage shows & open mics in the streets of Philly all the way to headlining their own festival & the Late Night show with Jimmy Fallon.  

As they proceeded to continue to rock the mic, their impact to Hip-Hop was immediate. From the jump, they displayed an expertly mixed combination of lyricism and live musicianship which amazed fans and influenced their peers alike.
We hope today's reminiscent reflection and tribute of Hip-Hop's greatest live rap band will help you understand the complexity of seeds planted by The Roots.

Bio : Long-standing resident DJs of the legendary underground venue Club 69, Co-Accused - aka Raymond & Lindsay Green - are a key fixture of Scotland's vibrant club scene. Over the years their parties have attracted an impressive lineup of artists, from exciting emerging talents to time-honoured leaders of the scene. They are an established name in Scotland and regulars at Glasgow's Riverside Festival, and have also played in European cities including Amsterdam and Barcelona.
Their techno and electro label Co-Accused Records has a dynamic ethos, channelling what they describe as “sonic grooves from another galaxy”. Their debut four-track release ‘Psychonaut Society', features a remix from Jensen Interceptor and has received strong support from the likes of Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke and Slam. Co-Accused's own productions have also appeared on Soma Records sub-label Avoidant and the Berlin based label Sävy Records. In addition, Lindsay's solo track 'Creepin' has recently been released on Sync 24's label Cultivated Electronics, and Raymond's solo work has been remixed by Hardfloor and The Horrorist. Always staying true to their driving, energetic sound, Co-Accused never fail to make a dancefloor move

... were you madly in love into something and you immediately knew it’s going to last forever? “How long is forever? Sometimes just one second.”
Hailing from the sleepy town of Logatec, Slovenia, this is exactly what happened to Christian in the summer of 2008, while hanging at some drum and bass party, with no idea he is about to enter an unexplored pathway.
The pathway is not so unexplored anymore. In 2013, Christian surprised the Slovenian music scene with his original approach to dark ambient music, while he was performing on the Radio Študent’s Club Marathon tour.
Since then, he proved his skills and innovation as a participant at the Red Bull Music Academy, performing on different festival stages (like Sonar in Barcelona, Dimensions in Pula, EMAF in Tokyo), as well as in various clubs from Belgrade to London, from Warsaw to Venice.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

- I would say, my biggest influences were the bands on my father cassettes I was listening to as a kid- bands like Depeche Mode, Alphaville, Ultravox. Slowly getting into stuff by The Prodigy as well as DJs like Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, James Ruskin, Umek.
But most important was the period from 2010 afterwards, getting into Berghain/Ostgut Ton related artists, like Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Shed. Was the most important period that got me into making music.

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- I'm just in the process of releasing a 12inch with Le Chocolat Noir on a brand new label KRI, from Ljubljana. I really enjoy making music with him as it just opened new dimensions to me. 
Then we have a new 12inch in a few months on one Berlin based label, can't really tell which one yet, but I'm really stoked to be releasing music on it. Also have some other tunes with him coming out as a part of compilations.
Then, have some plans for my Alleged Witches alias, but I still need to finish to music. 

3. Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now?

- Hmm, I still find the music which I've heard on the cassettes as a kid very relevant to me. Depeche Mode definitely. Just endless inspiration for me. Also various other artists, bands, from various music genres, for instance: The Alchemist, DJ Muggs, Deftones, Amon Tobin, obviously still love techno and sets by Ben Klock, Kr!z and his Token label, James Ruskin, Regis and whole Downwards label, Silent Servant, then music released on Ilian Tape or electro stuff by Carl Finlow, Anthony Rother, house stuff by DJ Qu. 

4. What inspires you now to create music?

- No real bigger philosophy about it, except I just have that drive about making it you know. 
Making a track I would enjoy listening to, not just one time, but 5 times in a row. To challenge myself. 
Until I get bored of it or make the next new thing haha.
Especially now, when making together with Le Chocolat Noir. I think some tracks are much more mature, complexed, compared to what I was making in the past. 
Plus of course, the music itself is still some sort of reflection of the World itself or how I perceive it. You know, the society, problems and crises that capitalism produces. I know my music making won't change anything and that's not even my goal, but still, you can draw many inspirations from the state of the world we live in.

Simona Dellamorte is a dj and producer based in Haarlem. Her debut EP as her solo project Feralia Planitia was released at the end of 2021, and was well received by the press and the public,  still being aired by electronic music radio programs around the world. Dellamorte’s compositions evoke the diverse styles of electronic music she loves, Ebm, industrial and electro, but at the same time it sounds highly personal and original. Using a mix of hardware, software synths and percussions, she creates entrancing tracks with a futuristic, dystopian feel, bolstered by captivating rhythms that are never obvious. In this mix prepared for Tracklistings, she proposes some of the electro tracks that she currently favours.

The only way to set this off is with a Rest In Power shout out to Scott La Rock. Twenty five years ago today, the rap game was instantly changed by his senseless murder. By no means necessary (see what we did there?) did we put this mix together to celebrate and popularize his unfortunate death, but to honor him alongside a collection of rap's chosen who were taken from us too soon. Our tribute is dedicated to all of the MC's that we've lost at the hands of meaningless gun violence. It is a sad and unfortunate thing that there exists enough slain rappers to make a list of ten, but as time goes on, the list continues to grow.  Let's all have a moment of silence.
