Following on from a successful pair of pressings Belfast based house music imprint Computer Controlled has released its next dosage of acid electronics - 'Untimely Emotions' EP courtesy of Gavin Guthrie aka TX Connect.  
With Mark Forshaw and Chris Moss Acid laying the groundwork for the label's future outlay it is safe to say in a much unapologetic manner  Computer Controlled is back with more of the same upfront 303 jams.  The whole EP has a retroactive mindset with its percussion, bassline and playfulness but all the while maintaining a progressive attitude -  with its layering of  varying sounds seamlessly over one another on 'Breaking', or even 'Crystal Clear's digitalised bleeps transcending the tone to a more science fiction locality.  As a whole the production has a very physical feel which is felt throughout each piece and in particular on 'Durable Chin' that begins with a simple DIY kickdrum followed by a crescendo of skilfully manufactured snares and bass.  The most driving track 'Not Here' has a engrossing spooky aesthetic making it for a very interesting track to be set apart from the rest of the EP.
With acid based compositions finding yet another resurgence through  outlets like Creme Organization, Tabernacle, Mathematics and Lunar Disko, Computer Controlled has most definitely made a case to be considered as another important player in the area of abrasive analogue music

This version of Undular is a stereo mix from the original 8 channel one.

Vertical is a meditation on primary waveforms and the polyrhythm of harmonics in synthetic sounds, stretching the boundaries between drone, minimalism and techno. Barbieri's minimalist focus arises from the exploration of the stratigraphic potential of voltage-controlled sequencers, in terms of polyrhythm and polyphony. Employing synthesis, psychoacoustics and repetition as key concepts, the italian composer stylizes the dancing of wave cycles in severe geometries of time and space.
All the tracks were played, recorded and produced in Stockholm, at EMS (Electroacoustic Music Studios) and KMH (Royal University of Music) in Summer 2013.

Fresh off their first release, London-based label Pater Noster Ltd is proud to reveal more of their world of unhinged and overdriven madness by presenting Tart Tart, the first solo release from Finnish producer Windom. 

Windom first made his mark on the scene by appearing on PATER001, with his rhythmic, entrancing jams “At Work” and “Arpeggio Flow I Love You So” demonstrating his raw and uncompromising approach to hardware techno. Built entirely around analogue synthesisers and drum machines and recorded live to tape in a single take, Windom’s world is restless, explorational, and utterly unique. Raw techno with a rough punk mentality. This time around Windom ramps things up a notch, showcasing four of his hardest-hitting techno bangers which are guaranteed to provoke strong visceral reactions.

The anthemic opener “Dedicated to the Vibe” bridges Windom’s style on PATER001 with the relentless and thumping urgency of the EPs remaining three tracks. “White Light Motor” is a heavy and pummelling exercise in techno-destructivity, while “Snoaring” pounds and stomps the day’s frustrations away. The record closes with “Start Stop Repeat,” which showcases an outrageously overblown kick drum that instantly draws you in and guides you to completion. Hard and heavy, physical and powerful, we invite you to enter Windom’s world of rhythms. It is often the case that less-than-mainstream names that make some of the greatest contributions are left aside in favour of the more widely-celebrated ones. Martyn Hare is a producer and DJ whose career spans a dark but important time for UK techno, the early 2000s, when the initial wave of innovation had begun to taper off and focus had shifted elsewhere. Even at its height in the late ‘90s, techno had always been something found around the edges of the more popular mutations of hardcore that took centre stage in UK, but this didn't stop Hare forging his own path. Originally releasing on labels like Tronic and Potential, Hare found quick success and just as quickly moved on to found Emetic and Tremors, where his sound truly found its voice. 

With the widespread re-evaluation of UK techno happening for the last few years, Martyn Hare picked his time to re-enter the fray, re-launching Emetic with a new vinyl only sub label, Emetic DNA, and releasing his third album, Swollen Sounds, after more than 60 singles on vinyl through his career. Hare counts John Peel, Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier as longtime fans, and with many of techno’s top contemporary names supporting his both his older tracks and new music, the veteran’s future is again looking bright. As before, diversity continues to be a key point in Hare’s sound, with industrial and techno as centre points, but also taking in hardcore, breakbeats, and the textured sound of modern electronic music. After years operating without hype and without compromise, Martyn Hare continues to be in distinguished company, a seasoned figure amidst a raft of newer names whose experience and dedication to the cause speaks for itself.

Wolfsheim are a synthpop duo from Hamburg, Germany consisting of Markus Reinhardt (music) and Peter Heppner (lyrics and vocals). The band was founded in 1987 by Markus Reinhardt and Pompejo Ricciardi and was named after Meyer Wolfsheim, a fictional character from F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel ‘The Great Gatsby’.  Ricciardi soon left the band and was replaced by Peter Heppner, a childhood friend of Reinhardt's. Together they produced their first demo tape, “Ken Manage”, in 1988.

After making a second demo tape, “Any But Pretty”, in 1989, Wolfsheim applied at various labels until they caught the attention of independent record label Strange Ways Records. They are best known for their debut breakthrough single, "The Sparrows and the Nightingales”, the first single to be released on Strange Ways in 1991. The band's musical style takes cues from the 1980s New Romantics, new wave, synthpop, and darkwave. The track's sombre synths were produced by Carlos Peron of Yello. Reinhardt says the lyric was inspired by ‘The Great Gatsby’, "in the 'onomatopoeic tension' between predator and security."  Over six minutes, the narrator describes being lost, unsure of where his life is heading, using highly metaphorical language. On the flip is a brand new remix by German producer Ancient Methods, a pseudonym of Michael ‘Trias’ Wollenhaupt, who provides a driving, EBM-leaning, amphetamine-laced club ready cut.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Designer Eloise Leigh has updated the record's original design with two sparrows
enclosed in a blood moon circle against a deep black purple backdrop. Each copy comes with a black and white photo postcard notes by Carlos Peron and the song's lyrics. This release comes in time to celebrate the single’s 25th anniversary.

Gilles Peterson-endorsed Bristolian, Typesun, makes his next chess move following on from a queue of primo productions over the last few years. "The PL", which featured the softly softly croons of an anonymous vocalist, was an undisputed 2013 jewel. "Water Song" was a swaddling pool of Latin loveliness; so good we had to take a dive ourselves. Now he's recruited MOBO-award winning jazz quartet Empirical’s Lewis Wright (vibraphone) and top guitar session player Miles James alongside a group of Bristol’s finest musicians for "Make It Right". Infused with smoke-tinted funk and pinned down by Typesun’s finely-honed production chops, it's the ideal mid-night foot-shifter.
