Diving deep into the heavenly, surreal universe of the German duo Trashlagoon and their first release on Délicieuse.

The title 'Struggle' is the leading single extracted from their album 'Blue Empire' set to release January 2014. Sebastien and Niklas deliver us a sleek and euphoric sound, supported by the effectiveness of the piano gimmick. We admire their powerful yet subtle identity, a crossroads between UK garage and German deep house influences.

Madmotormiquel, commander in chief of the leading label URSL (Soukie & Windish, NU, Lake People, etc.) honors us by taking on a spin of the title. His personal touch brings a new energy to the original, with a backdrop of a racing deep house beat. Supported by names like Hannes Fischer, Nico Stojan, and Rampue.. this track already proves to be promising.

Our man, Viken Arman, reinterprets the title in a romantic and dreamlike way, utilizing his signature "pianistic" style (the harpsichord). Once again, we’re blown away by the quality of his production. Always polished and in accordance with the original track’s approach.

This release well identifies with the duo’s universe that they’ve since portrayed in their August release of "Daily Winter". For the upcoming months we’ve got only good things in store : a live exclusive in Paris, another single set for November, and a vinyl release exclusively available on the Délicieuse..

About The/Das:
The/Das introduced their unique brand of 'techno tenderness' in 2013 with a set of EPs on italians finest ›Life And Death‹, followed by an Ep and a LP on Berlin sweetest ›Sinnbus‹. They came back with a trippy remix for Hundreds on Krakatau Records.
Shir Khan met Fabian from The/Das a few times in Berlin nightlife. Their shared vision for music & life led to this remix on Exploited.

About Mark E:
Mark’s first forays into production were, naturally, edits—warm, understated, and interestingly mellow, with tempos hovering somewhere between 105 and 115 BPM. Slowly, Mark went beyond edits and into original production, starting his own label, MERC, and honing a sound that was uniquely blue collar and utilitarian—classic, almost industrial house, with a tinge of disco warmth. A stellar remix for Matthew Dear’s “Little People (Black City)” introduced him to the Ghostly/Spectral fold, who released his first artist album, Stone Breaker. Shir Khan has followed Mark E since his first edits, saw him DJing one time in Berlin and just felt the time was right to ask for a remix.

"I started DJing a while ago when I was in school in Chico, CA, and I’ve always loved playing to a crowd and feeling their vibe. As my productions really started coming together, I started working with the 219 Boys on a few tracks. Then, when I saw them win the Discovery Project, I decided right then I was going to win it in 2015 and really focused on achieving that. No matter how busy you are, if you can set aside at least one hour a day to work on music, you are taking a step in the right direction. And now, 2016 is looking like a pretty exciting year!"

"For this mix, I went with tunes I have been playing out and have been destroying dancefloors in San Francisco. The Bay Area has been my home for my whole life, and I feel like my style represents it well. By the end of this year, I will have released on Mass Records, Perfect Driver, Sleazy G, House of Hustle, Nite Records, Audiophile XXL, Laser Native, and Solstice Records. A few weeks ago, @itskaasi told me of a beautiful idea he’d had about a way to be able to upload more of what he was really making on a daily basis. Real and raw, the motivation behind it, he’d worded beautifully;

TO STAMP THE MOMENT IN TIME

His concept of ‘stamping’ an idea in time thrilled me mainly because of the fact that it allows you to hear the stepping stones between our releases or, as I like to think of them, the little moments of madness that would have otherwise remained private. 

As producers, we’re often working on many projects at once, and ideas that could have actually been realised then and there in the moment, instead sit forgotten. Usually, an actual 'song' will have waited around for about a month or two before it then gets its scheduled release. 

So, here is this Soundcloud, where I can share with you what I’m making today; just pure unabashed exploration and the things that weren’t ever meant to be anything more than what they are, this isn't so much about my 'songs', so much as the sounds of my everyday.

I hope for this to serve as a map of my creative path, so you can see where my heart is going between my official releases, and more importantly what it is that is inspiring me now rather than a few months ago.

Ultimately, I can get back to feeling that this is all a humble journey, and not a deadline ridden marathon of milestones.
