ICI MTN is a live performer and producer, member of the Franco-Dutch collective Plor. Through his creations, he develops a hypnotic and melancholic universe with a deep, minimal and hybrid techno aesthetic.

Close to sound creation and electroacoustic music, he maintains a porous link with these influences, which naturally lead him to integrate a sensitive, poetic dimension into his music.

He considers this first release as a very intimate world, in which he has tried to place all the tracks likely to introduce the listener to his meditative vision of dance music.

The intention is to embrace a wide range of aesthetics, such as hypnotic techno, deep percussive rhythms or mental grooves, while focusing on complex atmospheres and textures. It's a notion that brings a lot of sensations as a listener, so he wanted to transcribe them as best as possible in this debut project.

"Kalpa (recurring dreams)" is a limited cassette edition and digital release by O C E A N I

The EP, born from the collaboration between sound artist Abo Abo and the musical collective La Licorice, features three reworks of original tracks from the collective's debut album “Dialoghi difficili (automatic behaviors)”, where Abo Abo reinterprets and manipulates La Licorice's materials through various sound synthesis and processing approaches. 

The process of deconstruction and reconstruction gives new form to the elements, resulting in fresh compositions that maintain an organic connection to the collective’s debut album while embracing Abo Abo's current sonic vision. Each track is a stage in an evolving listening experience; beginning with impact, moving into immersion, and eventually following a more consistent rhythmic line. 

The fourth track, "Kalpa", available exclusively on cassette, is a completely original composition that marks the next evolution in the collaboration between Abo Abo and La Licorice. "Kalpa" brings to life a sonic landscape, a dreamlike vision that features a narrating voice.

Those who have kept their ears tuned to the innovative underground have no doubt stumbled upon the tribalistic, psychedelic, and focused sounds emanating from the mind of Auckland-based producer Eli Høff. With a string of releases on Berlin-based PHTM, Tāmaki Makaurau(Auckland)-based Gypnotica, and an impressive catalog of self-releases, he consistently showcases his singular and original interpretation of dance music.

Melding together traditional psychedelic sounds with the deep, introspective sonic palette of the contemporary mental tekno movement, Melekan is no exception. The chattering of synthesized insects, the wailing of creatures, and the echoing clatter of natural percussion, layered upon the locked low-end grooves we’ve come to expect from Eli, create an immersive, hypnotic, and psychedelic journey of dancefloor-ready sounds.

The synthesisers could be interpreted as conversation from woodland insects, chirps of birds, large bass hits emanating from some larger entities. 
I like to envision these as painting a world. It’s inspired largely by the outdoor bush / doof scene of Australia and New Zealand.
