Alright, so it is time for another dose of Discrete Circuits and we can't be more pleased to present our Aussie mate, Earl Grey. He is one half of recently established Sydney based label Ken Oath Records and also one third of the Rimbombo party crew. Tune your ears to Earl Grey's selection of music which includes a couple of Aussie tunes plus a yet to be released track from a Ken Oath Records ambient cassette tape.

Leap Warren,

Born in Orlando in 1984, grew up in Winter Springs, Oviedo, and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, USA. He started off playing guitar in high school after having a revelatory experience while listening to Jimi Hendrix's, "Purple Haze", and Cream's, "Sunshine Of Your Love", in 1995 with his Father. 

In his Junior and Senior year in high school, friends in Winter Springs exposed him to the underground Rave Scene that was rising globally, but had a unique flavor in Florida. Producers in Florida began gravitating away from the 4 on the Floor Kick pattern that dominates most electronic music, and towards a drum style that was popularized in 1970's funk records, what has become known as a Break Beat. This genre is called by many names: Breaks, Break Beat(s), Funky Breaks, and also Florida Breaks. This genre formed the identity of the Rave Scene in Florida at the time, especially Central Florida... Notable Heroes and Pioneers of this genre include: DJ ICEY (Who many refer to as, the 'King of Funky Breaks', Dave London, Sharaz, DJ Fixx, DJ X, DJ Rob-E, and Friction and Spice, to name a few. 

After being exposed to this music, Leap Warren fell in love with dance culture and began producing in a free program called Fruity Loops, now known as FL Studio, way back in 2002.  He graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in Recording Arts in 2004 and worked as an  Audio Engineer in clubs, venues and corporate events. During these years Leap began collecting records and officially began DJing in 2006, recording his first full length DJ Compliation album, "Summer Breaks 2006", the same year. 

Since then, Leap Warren has honed his craft on the turntables, and cranked out a number of bangers including, "Let's Drop The Beat", which was featured on "The World's Biggest Beat", a global project where Producers from around the globe collaborated in splicing together the longest song ever created. 

His current DJ mixes and productions feature elements from Trance, many forms of House, and of course his roots in The Funky Breaks.

Leap Warren currently lives in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

Keep an eye out for a number of new mixes to be released soon, CDJ and ALL VINYL Mixes in the works as he transitions to an Analog Rotary Mixer.
