Yomi One (a.k.a. Mikael Nybom) has been quietly moving the gears behind Sweden's dance music scene since 2007, but now he's stepping out from the shadows to set the record straight. Hailing from Stockholm with a decade-plus résumé of working with some of dance music's finest (even if you didn't know it), Yomi One is here to remind you that acid never dies and neither does a good rave.

Inspired by the heady days of the late '80s and early '90s, when acid house ruled, techno was still underground, and raves were all about warehouses and sweat, Yomi One's sound pays homage to the raw energy of Chicago, Detroit, and London. Armed with a TB-303, TR-808, and a few more pieces of gear that sound like cheat codes for electronic music, Yomi One is on a mission to bring that authentic acid and techno grit straight to your speakers.

With his upcoming release on 'When Disco Goes Wrong,' Yomi One is here to inject some much-needed mischief into the scene. Nostalgic? Maybe. Forward-thinking? Definitely. Ready to make you sweat? I recently read Wayne Anthony's Class of 88 and wanted to try and write a warehouse acid track in the style of that era. I took samples of a demonstration which took place in Trafalgar Square, London on Jan 27th 1990. It was organized by all the main UK rave promoters who'd grown sick of being shutdown every time they attempted to throw a party. I've massive respect for all those who attended on a cold & rainy day in London. They just wanted the Freedom to Party!
