Ahead of the upcoming Critical Sound Room Two takeover on 3rd April, we've been commissioned to stream another taste of yet another Critical exclusive. If you click the soundcloud player below you can hear a whole heap of what the Ivy Lab trio did when they went into the studio to remix Mefjus' 'Blame You.' The track forms part of the cunningly named Mef:Lab EP which will be released exclusively on vinyl and digital this Friday (27th March) through the Critical store and Beatport. The other track on the 12" is yep, you guessed it, Mefjus remixing Ivy Lab and their track 'Sunday Crunk' making a packaged out of a duo of cuts that have reportedly been shelling down the Critical raves since their creation.

A heavy hitting long-player comes to Conditional in the form of Kindohm's magnum opus, 'RISC Chip'. 

Minneapolis-based Mike Hodnick, aka Kindohm, is widely known for his live-coded dancefloor interruptions, wringing splattered rhythms and textures from a text editor using the open source software TidalCycles. Adding analogue synths to his palette, 'RISC Chip' morphs and refines Kindohm's previous work into a bewilderingly singular work encompassing glitch, breakcore, IDM and techno. 

At once bruisingly complex and alluringly minimal, tracks like '32-bit Falcon' and 'Bit Dust' crunch and flex with pin-point percussion, opaque bass and paradoxical rhythm that only a mad-scientist approach to musicianship could afford. Elsewhere, 'Mint' and 'Practical Closures' let the sound open up a little more, giving some breathing room but keeping a stony gaze on the dancefloor. 

We're intensely proud to bring this destroyer into the Conditional fold. Roll up your sleeves and fall in.

TUFF WAX is proud to announce the launch of TUFF TRAX - our new free singles club with a 'white label' vibe, bringing you rarities, bootlegs, odds and sods and more on a monthly basis. 

First up, a special piece of music which for a long time I wasn't sure what to do with. Here's an incredible remix that our friend Ewan Robertson aka Offshore did for me last year. This was originally planned to be included on 'When U Stop Feeling Like A Weirdo & Become A Threat' along with the original. We had spoken back and forth about putting it online but never found the time to just master it and get it out there. After Ewan's sad passing & having spoken to his brother Neil, it just seemed like the right thing to do to give it away for all to enjoy.

Ewan was a real inspiration to us from day one, being a local guy who was a real success story in music and the arts. Despite us barely knowing each other when we first started chatting, he was so approachable and always took time out of his schedule to give us feedback and advice on our sometimes iffy early productions. We loved to hang out with him when he came home to visit his folks and we all miss him a lot. RIP mate.
