Wilkinson has recently announced the release of his eagerly anticipated debut album Lazers Not Included on 21st October 2013 via RAM records. Wilkinson, has been on unstoppable form since the huge Radio 1 playlisted ‘Need To Know’ and most recent single ‘Heartbeat’ featuring Arlissa and P Money, which firmly established him as one of the UK’s hottest producers and DJs. Lazers Not Included will be sure to stamp Wilkinson’s name in the faces of a worldwide audience. Following the huge success of his debut album ‘Caligo’, Spor has hooked up with powerhouse producer Memtrix to present ‘Memtrix & Spor: Darkest Hours’ forthcoming on Sotto Voce/Lifted Music.  The track will be released on 14th September. 

‘Darkest Hours’ begins with a stream of deep cinematic melodies progressing into a melting pot of cutting-edge bass sonics and crisp drum grooves; accompanied by ambient vocals. The B-side entitled ‘Super Trace’ unfolds as a dark roller combined with sharp percussion sounds, certain to get a dance floor moving.

With over 1 million views on his track ‘All You Are’ on YouTube and over 5 releases under his belt at the age of 19, this is the start of a long journey in the world of drum & bass for Memtrix. "Working with Spor has definitely been an eye opening and insightful experience,” he says, “but I think more than that it's just been really fun. It always seems really natural and fluent in the studio and we bounce ideas off each other really well I think. Obviously it's an absolute privilege for me to work with such a household name who's work I respect so much, and this release is something I'm really proud of and excited about."

Fresh from Catz ‘N Dogz own recent remixes of Disclosure, Roisin Murphy and Rufus comes their own remix compilation of their Basic Colour Theory album from artists such as Fred Everything, Jamie Jones, Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything, Jay Shepheard, and Skudge.

The original cuts of the Polish duo's third full-length Basic Colour Theory combined traditional songwriting and the group’s signature bass lines. This was undoubtedly influenced by the group’s busy DJ schedules around the world. The duo invited a number of guest vocalists to contribute to the project, including Green Velvet and Phat Kat.

Across the weighty 16 tracks on the full release are warm grooves and up-tempo cuts. Each remix itself demands attention, as each one blissfully captures the original's fun-based lovingness. Other highlights featured on the compilation album such as Good Touch, Get It Right and The Joy are equally bulkier in vibe, more expansive, yet often less capacious in detail. 

Premiering here on DHA is the remix by UK based DJ/Remixer/Producer Fred Everything. The remix is thought of as an extended method of quotation, citation and commentary with each new sound enforcing the consistency and dependability of Catz ‘N Dogz original production, as melodies and vocals are trimmed away in favor of reimagined newfound rhythms.

The collection will be released digitally as well as on vinyl on 11th March 2016.

Technique’s annual summer compilation has become one of the highlights of the label’s release schedule and this year’s edition is no exception.

Technique Summer 2016 features 37 tracks from across the drum & bass spectrum hand picked by Drumsound & Bassline Smith.

The label bosses themselves roll through with the fluid jungle of the Solah-laced “Cover Our Eyes”, the no-holds-barred funk of “Rise of the Black Panther” and their epic dubwise collaboration with Digital, “First World Problem”.

And then there are the big name cameos from artists not normally seen under the Technique banner. Brookes Brothers and Danny Byrd team up with the uplifting drive of “Climb High”, matched in hands-in-the-air power by the euphoric piano of The Prototypes’ “Don’t Let Me Go”. J Majik recruits 78° and Louie Cabrera for “Day I Left” and “Elastic” respectively. And the mighty DJ SS drops an emotively claustrophobic killer in the form of “Expression”.

Of course, the regular regiment of Technique soldiers are present and correct too. Tantrum Desire delivers the tech atmospherics of “Tesoro”, while Kronology subverts the big-room sound with the unpredictable twists and turns of “Everyday”. L Plus backs up rumbling bass and popping beats with entwined chord patterns in “Invincible”. Plus Document One show two different sides to their character, with the jazz funk vibe of “Klaxon” and the paranoid sci-fi of “Say What”.

And we’re nowhere near covering everything this album has to offer. From the jungle tear-out of Brian Brainstorm’s “Badman Selector” to the minimal magic of Oder’s “Mesmerize”, via the liquid purity of Salaryman’s “He Knows”, this is a journey that needs to be experienced. Any selection that takes you straight from Fade’s “Disco Ball” into Conspire’s “Glare of Brass” then to Salaryman’s “Synthesized Melancholia” is making a statement about the strength in depth of the D&B genre right now.

If all that wasn’t enough, all the tracks are featured on two continuous mixes by Kronology.

The first album sampler features Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s “Rise of the Black Panther” and is available now exclusively in the Beatport store and from the Technique shop from June 10. The second sampler includes Document One’s Klaxon and you can get your hands on in from June 24 in the Technique shop. Following a string of successful releases Krakota is back with a massive 14-track collection. ‘Strange System’ marries heavy distortion with razor-sharp clarity, crossing and colouring the black and white lines of drum & bass with his versatile style and slick production. His debut album stands tall and proud shouting his individual sound. Never underestimate Krakota, he’s full of surprises!

In ‘Colour Of The Past’ Krakota simultaneously tugs at the heartstrings and hits hard in the face with vocals brought by new finding Karina Ramage. The French-Scottish-English songwriter was a surprise find by label boss Chris Goss as he discovered her busking on London’s South Bank. Another clear highlight is his partnering with our second label boss for ‘Powder Coated’ - the perfect mix of London Elektricity soul and Krakota power.

‘Half Life’ is a reminder back to the massive dancefloor damage caused by ‘Ice Hands’, ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Xylo’ last year. Its gritty split of siren calls and deep bouncing bass hits in all the right places.
