Alexander Church is back on his Configurations Of Self label with four melodically driven cuts entitled ‘Confirmation Bias’.

Configurations EPs provide emotiveness and glistening sound design influenced by psychological theory.

Church is steadily leaving his mark on the electronic music world as he brings his open-minded and adventurous approach to production where he delves into varying styles fusing melodic soundscapes electronics and techno.

‘Confirmation Bias’ kicks off proceedings with dreamy chord progression, gentle vocas and emphatic melodies before ‘Social Construction’ maintains the warm vibrations through sweeping pads, euphoric textures and rhythmic bass grooves shimmering throughout.
On the flip, colourful sonic elements harmonioiusly balanced with uplifting synth waves and resonating kicks take the foucs in ‘Circular Casualy’ until ‘Psuedo Sciences’ rounds things off with rolling, organic percussion, breathtaking modulations and rumbling low frequencies to keep the energy flowing.

It’s been a tough year for everyone, especially for the electronic music and artists in general, however, Madrid’s Logical Records have seized this opportunity to bring audiences something special and make important changes for the future.
Label bosses Mike Sacchetti and Ivan De La Rouch have decided to put together five magical tracks on what’s going to be the first V/A Vinyl/Digital Release from the imprint. “Meteors” is the name given to this story and it's where the main characters came together from different places around the globe to take us on a trip filled with dark hypnotic sounds and groovy beats.
Logical’s 72nd release counts with the contribution of well known faces in the electronic music contemporary scene such as: Mexican duo Zombies in Miami, Parisian artist La Mverte, Berlin-based music producers Local Suicide & Skelesys, Label bosses Mike & Ivan and Lyon’s heroes Cornelius Doctor & Tushen Raï.

The ever artful and innovative Configurations of Self label returns with a new EP from founder Alexander Church and frequent guest artist, Jody Barr. The last couple of decades have seen Church emerge as one of techno’s most interesting sound designers, groove makers and synth wizards. From melodic soundscapes to industrial techno under a range of aliases he can do it all, and often with a deep thinking perspective that adds real depth to the music.

Barr, meanwhile, last appeared on the label when remixing back in June. He has also landed on Krankbrother and Nofitstate, runs his own Portable Minds, and is also a close member of Sasha’s Last Night on Earth family. His hardware-centric sound is always rugged and real.

Church’s opener 'Splitting' is a scintillating and luxurious techno track with an angelic vocal drifting like a cloud amongst silvery harmonies and melodies. A driving bassline powers along the groove and ensures you're lost in a reverie.

Jody Barr then offers 'Collusion', a darker track with acid gurgles underpinning the icy hi hats. It's deep techno for the dead of the night and is hugely atmospheric.

'Dissociated Process' is the final Church original and is another exquisite showcase of his ability to pair heavy grooves with delicate and majestic synth craft. The rubbery drums provide the rhythm
while the keys and deft melodies drift past up top with a real sense of beauty.

Lastly, Barr's 'Under the Rain' rides on an expansive and cosmic broken beat grove with plenty of astral pads and starry
synths unfolding in the wide open skies above.

These are four well crafted, high class melodic techno tracks that brim with futurism.

Originally working under separate aliases of Jtwig and RLS, Josh Twigge-Molecey from Brighton and George Protheroe from Banbury have come together as the DJ/Producer duo Sonic Juncture. Spanning the spectrum of Disco, House, Breakbeat, Techno and Electro with their production and mixes, the duo have many releases in the works to help them craft a name for themselves within the scene. Their debut EP lands on Manchester based record label Chequered Wax and features 3 tracks full of breaks, deep basslines, atmospheric pads and squelchy synths.

We are a niche imprint, established in 2019 by producer & sound designer Alexander Church, fusing academic teachings, music, & passion for visual media.

The concept is based on psychological theories & ideas, with each piece of music representing emotional responses to the processes, feelings, and self-awareness that label boss Alexander Church has experienced through his study of psychology and counselling. The track titles are a direct reflection of these, allowing for greater awareness of the multiple defences, behaviours, and personality traits one has.

Each EP, some of which are vinyl-pressed, is themed around a particular part of Church's life and academic journey, with accompanying media showcasing Church's own photography of rural & empty places, lakes, and the coast. Melodic, atmospheric and expansive sounds paired with deep, futuristic dub, breaks, & techno that connect on both the mental & physical level is what we strive for.

As an off-shoot of Configurations of Self, the new Life Scripts imprint will focus on more experimental, ambient, minimal, and breakbeat sounds, inspired by the use of boutique analog synthesizers from Buchla, Black Corporation, Portabella, and Erica Synths, including the Syntrx and Sky Dada System. It stems from the collaboration of Church & frequent studio partner, James Welsh, who together make up the newly formed duo, Common Factors. A name and idea which arose from the two producers’ first encounter and the realization of their many common interests, particularly synthesizers. 

While most of the releases will be from Church & Welsh, they are also open to other stand-out producers with whom they may collaborate.  

Already receiving outstanding early support from the likes of BBC's Erol Alkan & Tom Ravenscroft, NTS Radio, John Digweed, Sasha, Nick Warren, Jamie Stevens, and more, the label has seen 7 EPs since its inception in Jan. '21, including the latest 2022 release with @just-b-4.

"Life Scripts are unconscious relational patterns derived from childhood reactions and experiences. They begin at birth, are reinforced by parents, justified by subsequent events, and culminate into a chosen alternative, outside of awareness, for the remainder of adult life. They can be either extremely empowering or severely limiting."
