I'm always down for some experimental/avant-garde stuff, and this definitely hits.

It's like there's tonal music in here trying to fight its way through the angular noise.

To me an entire story unfolds. An electronic geek had to rush out of the house for some reason and left one piece of his gear running.  Gradually it fired up the whole lab and develops bits of self-awareness. To the system it's like years run through them and pieces of it fall in love. It's the love story of some circuits.

Creative and bold... interesting track, but I don't get a strong sense of beginning, middle and end, which if deliberate is totally ok, just an observation.

i think it could work really well as a soundtrack, lots of interest, in quite a harsh way. I would enjoy more variation in the noise frequencies!

The Auld Skool Shimmy

This time - in Jan.23-round of the OneSynthChallenge - one Synth included in the DAW had to be used. Now, MuLab (by Mutools) is an affordable, but (at least for me) musically inspiring DAW with a slim but powerfull composer and including an extremely flexible synth called MUX. It's even possible to include another composer within the synth ....
Now this song is made with MuSynth, which contains synth- and effect-modules of MUX, but no samples at all.
I used 14 instances of MuSynth with some MUX-EQ, compressor, limiter, echo and reverb. Only in the master I used "MHorse P3" and "LoudMax" - both are available for free.

"Have you ever seen a winter solstice at -40? Is it rising or falling? Actually you can't tell at the time. It rises above the horizon only for a few hours and while it shines, it creates a beautiful palette of colors in the sky." 

A little composition created with stock FL Studio synth. It is intended to be some kind of digital FM synth emulation. It is kinda limited, but I wanted to try to make a track with something like that and also try another kind of sound rather than the usual virtual analog.

But both those options proved too CPU intensive for my PC. Switched to **ReaSynth** to see what I could do with it! The piece basically done during 4 hr flight to Perth, minus some additional ear candy + mastering.

Three Is Better Than Four (by phankiejankie 303)

This month's one synth challenge is to use one synth that comes with your DAW. In this case I'm using Subtractive in Tracktion Waveform Pro 12. This is a 4 oscillator polysynth with drive, two filters in serial and a number of effects. It has fixed modulation routing but does offer four envelopes and four LFOs. All sounds are created from init. As the synth has a bunch of useable effects built in, not may external effects were used. Aside from ten Subtractive instances, the following plugins were also used:
