Cariocas, os dois nasceram em 1954 com apenas uma semana de diferença – Robson em 23 de abril, Lincoln no dia 16. Aos 13 anos, em 1967, o prodígio Lincoln já liderava, como tecladista, uma banda de baile que tocava nos subúrbios do Rio de Janeiro. Guitarrista e violonista, Robson passou a tocar com ele no começo dos anos 1970, quando ambos foram arrebatados pelo nascente movimento Black Rio. Com o domínio de novas linguagens dançantes (especialmente a disco music, derivada do funk), de modernos instrumentos musicais (Lincoln foi um dos pioneiros no uso de sintetizadores no Brasil), e um talento ímpar para produção e arranjos, a dupla se tornou quase onipresente na indústria fonográfica dos anos 1980."

Until now you could find her playing in bands around LA, opening for big tent stuff like Fitz and the Tantrums and Fun dot, and making a record with some friends from Dr. Dog. She enjoyed the sideman life, but longed for an outlet of her own, writing and recording in secret, developing a body of work about hidden desire itself. Steady Holiday is her coming out party, featuring Josh Adams (Jenny Lewis) and produced by Gus Seyffert (The Black Keys, Beck).

Mr. Carmack - The Next Afternoon

The evolution of this ensemble has happened naturally over the past year and a half. Having captivated audiences from coast to coast, and finished up their first full length record, it is clear that Congo, Haile and Flex are on the rise as a cutting edge musical force.  The influences in the music are quite diverse.  Congo's time as the drummer for Thievery Corporation has clearly had an affect on his ears as he continues to explore the downtempo, reggae mezcla, with an obvious hip-hop overtone to the over all musical composition. You will be taken through an array of sounds and rhythms, paying homage to the roots of music with thick layers of percussion, signature to the Congo Sanchez sound.  Most importantly the band puts out a conscious message which is typically non existent in most of the music we hear these days.
