Nature, at its core, is cyclical, rythmic and tacted to such perfection that it almost seems melodic. coiro‘s music embodies nature‘s instinctive repetition and transforms it into dreamy deep house that blurrs its perimeters to Techno. With dancing rythms and steady melodies coiro manages to create a calming ambience that simultaneously engages and mobilizes listeners by stiring up emotions, much similar to the effects of nature itself. Having grown up in the insanely busy town of São Paulo, he uses his music to escape the tumult and densely built constructions of Brazil‘s largest city. At 16, coiro emerged himself in the world of electronic music, mesmerized not only by its sounds but also by its creation.

XYZ and When We Dip present the Selectors series, where we give our family of producers an opportunity to display their prowess behind the decks. Expect unreleased material from across the label collective, as well as classic gems and heady grooves from some of the underground's finest selectors.

Celebrating the final remix of Motip White’s ‘Clean The Turbines’ EP and our final release of 2023, we bring you the very talented, Meera. On episode 108, the Norwegian producer stuns with an ethereal mix, creating a simultaneously serene yet uplifting vibe. 

In her take on the title track, she stays faithful to her style, which has recently been showcased on VOD and Crosstown Rebels, and opposes a subby kick with a tempest of hats & shakers, harmonically guided by a light piano. Meera keeps on building the energy, surprisingly introducing her own vocals and an acid layer on the arp as the tune unfolds.

It's by no means a coincidence that Tim Engelhardt released his debut album on Steve Bug's Poker Flat label at the tender age of 17 years old. For his musical education began a full decade earlier, when he made his first encounter with classical music theory on the piano at home. Influenced by the musical leanings of his parents, with Mike Oldfield's compositions being particularly formative, Tim soon discovered the tracks of Cologne producer Robert Babicz, shifting his focus to computers and synthesizers as the primary means of production. In the midst of a diverse new generation of young producers who'd source their inspiration from a whole range of genres, Tim kicked off his career as he released his first vinyl EP at the age of 14. It's the combination of a deep-running music knowledge and an intuitive playfulness that Tim has been cultivating since then, expressing itself in a great love for harmony and expanding melodic structures, paired with an organic flow and atmospheric density. As a result, Tim's impressive output of the past years found a home on labels like Poker Flat, Cityfox, Watergate, Fryhide, Innervisions, Vivrant and, most recently, on Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, where his second album 'Idiosynkrasia' was released in 2020. His work in the studio is only one side of the coin, however, as Tim has been touring the globe extensively, playing dance floors at festivals and clubs in Australia, Africa, India, Europe and the US. Here, Tim found a home away from home in New York, where the renowned Cityfox awarded him with a permanent residency at the super-club Avant Gardner. His continuous presence in the Big Apple culminated in the musical contribution to the New York Timesbestseller project 'The Outlaw Ocean' by journalist Ian Urbina. During the touring drought of the pandemic and thanks to his tireless research in the studio, Tim was able to make a name for himself as a sound engineer, upgrading the mixdowns of other artists. Additionally he released numerous sample packs and software templates in 2021, aiding young artists in their own production quests. Tim Engelhardt's vision for the future: Art with personality – art that holds a piece of its creator at its heart. His mission is to translate the sounds in his head into reality as convincingly as possible. Which explains why Tim's productions don't really sound like the standard DJ fodder, as he delivers a well-rounded musical vision to the club floor, that is just as awe inspiring on the hi-fi system of your living room.

andhim are a German DJ and producer duo founded by Simon Haehnel & Tobias Müller. Since their start in 2010, they have published numerous songs and remixes and worked with artists such as Diplo, Rüfüs du Sol and Theophilus London on an internationally successful level.

With residencies in New York, Los Angeles, London and Berlin, they are among the most successful DJ duos in the scene. Over the last decade, andhim have manifested their signature sound without  any boundaries in expressing themselves on a creative level. They have cultivated an exceptionally loyal fan base of musical lovers all over the world. 

In 2020 their documentary film “Miles To Go“ was released. A road trip along the west coast of the US, which dives deep into the lives of the two on tour and how they work with each other. The film has been shown at several international film festivals so far and has won two coveted prizes: “Best Score” (Swindon Independent Film Fest, UK) and “Best Documentary Feature” (San Diego IKFF, USA). The music in the film was written exclusively by andhim and released as a soundtrack album on their own label Superfriends Records.

Superfriends Records is andhim‘s own label, founded in 2016. A label that captures a refined and contagiously unique electronic sound. It is an outlet for the duo’s most ambitious ideas. Among others, Artists like Roman Flügel or Acid Pauli released on the label.
