Boblebad, real name Ulf Moen Denneche, is a genuinely original creative and all-around production dynamo based in Oslo. He is equally adept at crafting immersive sonic textures as striking imagery and is a painter and visual artist as well as a producer. He debuted on this label last spring with 'Vill Falafel', and his powerfully individual music has also come on the likes of Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings, and Aquavit Beat. Boblebad also plays the trombone for a cultured Afrobeat band and rousing, jazz-inspired big band. As such, he has deep musical roots and rich skills that all play out on this genre-defying new album.

German artist Meyer is a prolific producer who’s sound if always evolving whilst staying true to his roots. He is an audio sculptor who mixes up powerful grooves with moving melodies and has done so mostly on this label. As well as producing and DJing he also plays live and brings that impromptu innovation to his studio work. This latest release opens with a vocal edit of 'Be Quiet.' It is a seven minute trip into luxurious deep house. The shuffling drums are cuddly, the chords drawn out so as to really resonate, and lots of tiny details keep the mind occupied and lost in the beauty of it all. It's a late night track for cosy spaces and those who appreciate the finer side of electronic music. The instrumental strips out the vocal whispers and subtle coos to make for an even deeper trip.

Raised in Manhattan during the ‘Golden Age’ of dance music and inspired by the likes of Louie Vega, Joey Negro and Frankie Knuckles, Brooklyn 101 resident DJ Payroll is back on his Good House Keeping Records label as he serves up three groove-laden, Latin-infused house cuts across his ‘Hearts Matter’ EP. Lead track ‘I Wish’ is a pulsating number combining choppy vocals and convulsing synths over deep low-ends, before the percussive ‘My Life’ throws in rhythmic drums and swinging stabs which get down under loopy female lyrics. To close, ‘La Vida’ harnesses chuggy basslines, jazzy motifs, rattling bongos and Latin harmonies for a sun-drenched finale.

PREMIERE: DJ Payroll - La Vida [Good House Keeping Records]

Sonic Safari continues its mission of global groove exploration with its seventh release, the "Silk Road EP", a brilliant collaboration between Kanaa Knight and rBert.

Teaming up for the first time, the pair deliver a stunning two-tracker that journeys deep into the heart of ancient trade routes, merging history and mysticism through ethno-tinged organic house.

Opening with the title track "Silk Road", the duo create a soundscape steeped in dusty caravan trails and twilight bazaars. Rolling percussion lays the foundation, while hypnotic melodies and intricate string textures weave like merchants through a crowded souk. Ethereal pads, subtle flutes, and distant vocal murmurs echo like stories passed from traveller to traveller, evoking a profound sense of groove and mystery.

On the flip, "Letters From Samarkand" dives even further into introspective territory. Anchored by a minimalist groove and a percussive shuffle, this piece drips with atmosphere. Vocal chants float in and out like forgotten prayers, while airy pads and celestial chords shimmer across the mix.
