Øivind Andersen Sjøvoll is at the heart of the Norwegian scene as a club promoter, expansive DJ and studio innovator. He has spent 20 years immersed in dance music culture and in that time has produced everything from darkened disco to sunlit soundscapes and irresistible club music. It has come on the likes of this label as well as Paper and Sprechen, and his forthcoming album is his most genre-defiant work yet, as all the lead singles have been showing. Like on many of the album tracks, this latest one features Lydia Waits who was last heard on 'Rhythm Cast A Spell On Me' with Kohib earlier in 2021. Her stirring performance here shines like a beacon as it powers over Kohib's slick four to the floor groove. Crisp drums drive the hypnotic rhythm over a subaquatic bass line as icy pads and pitched synth percussion combine to bewitching effect. Bakean - Le Reve (Rogerio Lopez Remix)

Funny story about how this remix happened. 
I was working on another remix for Bakean when he asked me if I wanted to remix his track “Le Reve” & I said yes, I had 1 week to do it, so no pressure.
I went to my music database, and I remember at the I was listening to a lot of Sade, that’s where the Congas idea came from, I remembered that track Take on Me with that intensity and speed of the track when he was dreaming. 
I came up with these melodies with pianos, strings that lead me this universe where when you close your eyes it feels like a dream " Le Reve".

Blended wtih organic percussive drums, Alex Twin’s remix, meaningful in essence, might fulfill anyone’s expectations.

- Goyanu Remix 

When I first listened the original song, I was excited about it and sure of two things: the vocals and the Diltar strings should be the key elements for my remix. Obviously I tried to keep the high energy of the track picturing a dance floor situation where people would give themselves in and dance with their bodies, souls and minds. Therefore, I brought a groovy bass line complemented with percussions and an offbeat synth melody.

Following on from strong releases, courtesy of Blond:ish and Sobek, ABRACADABRA presents a new single from BLOEM.  The Cape Town born DJ and producer is very much at the heart of the ABRACADABRA stable, being one of the co-founders of the brand, honing her sound via DJ sets at many of the ABRACADABRA events and parties, as well as having an active role in the new label.

“Zikomo” captures the unique fusion of indigenous rhythms and percussions that has been at the backbone of her sound, and a sound that will soon be showcased via a full-length album due for release in 2019.

BLOEM gives an insight into the making of “Zikomo”, “the vocals from this track I recorded earlier this year from Malawian street vendors at Kalk Bay Harbour in my hometown of Cape Town. I bought a straw handbag and they said “Zikomo Kwambiri” which means “Thank you very much”. I loved the rhythm with how they said it, so I asked to record them saying it again. They had such a great energy whilst laughing and smiling non-stop. You can almost hear their smiles when they speak in the vocal recording.  I felt those vocals combined well with the beautiful Kora, an African instrument, that also features in the track."
