"Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit begegnete Baba vor seinem Haus einem alten, heruntergekommenen, obdachlosen Yamaha DX-7. Alte Synthesizer aus den 80ern sind Baba sehr sympathisch, weshalb er den ziemlich verwirrten und zerkratzten Digitalpionier auf einen kleinen Jam ins seine Wohnung einlud. Seine Hoffnung, inspirierenden Klängen und aufregenden Geschichten zu lauschen, wurde nicht enttäuscht, obwohl der alte Herr auf Grund einer niemals gewechselten Batterie unter starkem Gedächtnisverlust zu leiden hatte. Einige inspirierende Fetzen dieses mehrstündigen Monologs über Italo Disco, Acid House und viele verpasste Gelegenheiten konnte Baba unbemerkt aufzeichnen und in diese kleine akustische Perle verwandeln - ein hektischer Versuch, all das Versäumte aufzuholen.“

Just when you think that Jannowitz Records is definitely ready for a specific genre drawer to be put it, we will surprise you. The label's idea has always been to bend boundaries between house, techno and everything in between. So it's only natural to see melodic house heroes Mia Mendi & Rafael Cerato on this newest 1710 EP. The British Mia Mendi boys recently contributed an outstanding podcast for the well known Jannopod series just a few months ago. You know them from their releases on imprints such as Stil vor Talent, Suah or Lauter Unfug. With 1710 their first real JAW release is a tribute to the state of the art melodic music that has been ruling the Beatport charts throughout 2018 and is the perfect fit for Jannowitz records who has been setting standards in Germany's club culture more and more over the last few months and years.The second track on the release is a collaboration with French tech house king Rafael Cerato who is a producer through and through. His works have been featured on Suara, Diynamic and Get Physical - just to name the top of the iceberg. The British-French combo teamed up and worked with what they know best. Mia Mendi's dreamy melodies swirling over Rafael's bumpy tech house beat to create a track that will work at peak time as well as at the after hour.

Hidden Empire is the brainchild of Branko Novakovic and Niklas Schäfers, who describe their musical vision as an 'impulsive, deeply moving soundscape, using the very essential and deepest elements of House and Techno'. Having dropped vital releases on the likes of Stil Vor Talent and Suara in the past couple of years, the boys now release Caterpillar - four tracks of sleek, purpo- seful techno on Oliver Huntemann's ever dependable Senso Sounds label. Lead track 'Caterpillar' is a lean, focussed and deadly example of their craft - synths are laser guided, while the rhythm
is pulsating and hypnotic. Similarly, 'Jack Haze' cuts away all the excess and hones in on a purity of purpose - slick beats and urgent percussion make this a standout cut. '20000V' is cut from
the same cloth, a dance floor-ready destroyer with tonnes of kinetic energy and perfectly pitched dramatic tension. Lastly, 'Tribute' completes the quartet - deep vibes and a wonky off kilter synth line add to the sense of euphoria.

As we move into summer Atlant visits the rich cultural hub of Florence (IT) to commission our own renaissance work of art, courtesy of those fantastically talented modern electronic expressionists Fat Cosmoe.

Lorenzo and Mattia's Atlant debut on VOYAGER with 'Moonshiner' saw support from Fideles in their UNITY live stream. Now is the time to showcase Fat Cosmoe in a starring role over three tracks to inspire you, tug on your heart strings and raise the spirits during these unique times.

Lead track 'Von' firmly encompasses the new Italian sound championed by a certain duo from Lombardy, while being expansive and pushing the envelope further. 'Von' starts with deep swirling bass just to let you know these guys mean serious business. Arpeggiated lines add a sense of tension before soothing keys and celestial voices enter, taking listeners deep into a beautiful neoclassical piano breakdown. Expertly crafted 'Von' shows that Fat Cosmoe are developing their unique sound and charting their own path.
