Izhy is a  Young Argentine DJ and producer born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he starts this artistic project that seeks to transmit consciousness to people with music through spiritual compositions. In the search of his artistic self-knowledge, he experiences a constant evolution in his sound after having had an early experience as a dj in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Experience that leads him to meet great artists to continue growing as a music producer and launch his first releases on labels such as Saisons, Dreamsway and Do Not Sit On The Furniture.

This June, Daniel Jaeger and Andrea Ljekaj bring their fresh perspectives to Cook Strummer's standout 2020 single 'Rising'.

The original of ‘Rising’ was part of the Words Don't Come Easy Vol. 7 compilation and aimed to get dancers in a state of transcendence. First up to remix it here is Berlin's Daniel Jaeger, a respected artist with an impactful sound on labels like Criminal Bassline, Katermukke and Bar 25 Music. He retains the warmth and organic feel of the original, but layers in an elastic bassline that gets you moving. The filtered vocals have a mournful edge, while the synths rise up and down the scale to bring a sense of hope.

Andrea Ljekaj is one of Croatia's most accomplished artists. Since 2019 he has run Croatia Gets Physical, which unearths and promotes the best new artists in his homeland. He also releases on this label, Oddity and Elrow, and has a powerful sound that often comes tinged with dancefloor euphoria. His expressive, textured take on 'Rising' has a darker feel, with pained vocals and prickly percussion churning over a menacing baseline. It's a gritty track that brings a freaky vibe to the floor.

These are two very different but equally essential remixes.

Renaissance welcomes Notre Dame back to the label having previously remixed Mr Morek‘s 'Massive Landing'. Brimming with youthful energy and creativity, the Parisian producer and DJ has also released on Three Six Zero, Stil Vor Talent and Diynamic, not least his breakout ‘Yumi’ on the latter, so Renaissance is very excited to get him back onboard. His other accolades include Pete Tong's ‘Essential New Tune’ and touring all over the world, playing at a variety of influential clubs and festivals that includes Cercle Festival, Zamna, Space Miami, Womb Tokyo, KOKO London and more… 'Geisha' grew out of a deep fascination with Japanese culture, in particular the artisans from which it takes its name and the country’s renowned landscapes; it’s a perfect musical snapshot of the orient, which also features an ‘Intro Mix’, that’ll no doubt secure a place at the start of many a set. Cioz takes the remix honours, injecting serious, melodic techno weight to the track; undoubtedly a sumo counterpoint destined for peaktime dojos. Born and raised in Burgos, Spain, Yamil has been delivering high-quality, high-charting house music for several years now. He draws on a rich world of Afro-inspired sounds and cultures and brings classy percussion and deep vibrations. He has landed on the likes of Sol Selectas and MoBlack while also playing plenty of notable clubs and festivals around the world and picking up support and plays from mainstays like Black Coffee and Solomun. After collaborating with G.Zamora on this label in the past, he now returns with a fantastic solo outing.

Opener 'Nimbe' is an enchanting and escapist track that takes you deep to the heart of a spiritual gathering with jazzy trumpet motifs. Layers of rhythmic vocal chants and spoken words will soon entice dancers as the uplifting melodies soar. 'Amonunde' is just as authentic and well crafted, this time with a more late-night feel and rolling beats embellished with shakers, starry melodies and smoky, soulful vocals. The fantastic 'Cotonú' closes down with an elegant and empowering mix of bold chords and warm, rubbery drums offset by more plaintive piano keys and another mesmerising vocal delivery.

Esigia has been years in the making, and we believe the outcome justifies the wait.

Back in the start of 2016 the trio made quite a ruckus, bringing a new sound out of Africa, to the global scene. A raw Afro beat, mixed with synths and Ghanaian vocals.

On 'Esigia,' Djuma Soundsystem envisioned blending the distinct sounds of the Ghanaian kologo, a home made two string instrument, with classic Chicago house. He invited one of Ghana's foremost kologo talents, King Ayisoba, and his band for a jam, and the result was vocal calls and responses that effortlessly intertwine with deep house synth lines and King's kologo, bridging organic percussion with electronic manipulation.

The remix pack is second to none, kicking off with Swiss maestro Kellerkind's smooth deep approach, adding his own signature groove. Kintar transports the track to another realm, introducing playful pianos and guitars to dance atop of a deep beat, taking all listeners on a surprising turn in a jazzy break. Finally, we introduce our in-house talent Ruskar, Brazil's youngest Afro house sensation, with his distinctive sound that never fails to ignite the dancefloor.
