17 I shall not die, but live, and shall
the works of God discover.
18 The Lord hath me chastised sore,
but not to death giv'n over.

19 O set ye open unto me
the gates of righteousness;
Then will I enter into them,
and I the Lord will bless.

20 This is the gate of God, by it
the just shall enter in.
21 Thee will I praise, for thou me heard'st
and hast my safety been.

 3  They altogether filthy are,
       they all aside are gone;
    And there is none that doeth good,
       yea, sure there is not one.

 4  These workers of iniquity
       do they not know at all,
    That they my people eat as bread,
       and on God do not call?

 5  There feared they much; for God is with
       the whole race of the just.
 6  You shame the counsel of the poor,
       because God is his trust.

 7  Let Isr'el's help from Zion come:
       when back the Lord shall bring
    His captives, Jacob shall rejoice,
       and Israel shall sing.

8  His loving-kindness yet the Lord
         command will in the day,
      is song's with me by night; to God,
         by whom I live, I'll pray:

   9  And I will say to God my rock,
         Why me forgett'st thou so?
      Why, for my foes' oppression,
         thus mourning do I go?

  10  'Tis as a sword within my bones,
         when my foes me upbraid;
      Ev'n when by them, Where is thy God?
         'tis daily to me said.

  11  O why art thou cast down, my soul?
         why, thus with grief oppresed,
      Art thou disquieted in me?
         in God still hope and rest:

      For yet I know I shall him praise,
         who graciously to me
      The health is of my countenance,
         yea, mine own God is he.

5	The LORD our God is kind and full of grace;
		Both righteous and compassionate is he.
	6	The LORD protects all those of childlike faith;
		When I was in great need, he rescued me.

	7	Rest, O my soul; God has been good to you—

		My feet from stumbling and my eyes from tears,
	9	That I may live for you while I have breath.

	10	I trusted in the LORD, and then I spoke;
		I said in anguish: “I am sorely tried”.
	11	And in the very depths of my dismay,
		“All men are liars—every one!” I cried.

	12	How can I thank the LORD for all he’s done?
	13	With gratitude salvation’s cup I’ll raise;
	14	I’ll call upon his name, and will fulfil
		My vows to him before his people’s face.

Psalm 116 (Tune: Eventide)

Who go to sea in ships, and in
great waters trading be,
Within the deep these men God's works
and his great wonders see.

For he commands, and forth in haste
the stormy tempest flies,
Which makes the sea with rolling waves
aloft to swell and rise.

They mount to heav'n, then to the depths
they do go down again;
Their soul doth faint and melt away
with trouble and with pain.

They reel and stagger like one drunk,
at their wit's end they be:
Then they to God in trouble cry,
who them from straits doth free.

The storm is changed into a calm
at his command and will;
So that the waves, which raged before,
now quiet are and still.

Then are they glad, because at rest
and quiet now they be:
So to the haven he them brings,
which they desired to see.

         his count'nance is mine aid.

      7  At the noise of thy water-spouts
         deep unto deep doth call;
      Thy breaking waves pass over me,
         yea, and thy billows all.

         command will in the day,

Lyrics:
Praise ye the Lord; for it is good praise to our God to sing: 
for it is pleasant, and to praise it is a comely thing. 
God doth build up Jerusalem; and he it is a alone 
that the dispers'd of Isreal doth gather into one. 

Those that are broken in their heart, and grieved in their mind, 
He healeth, and their painful wounds he tenderly upbinds. 
He counts the number of the stars; he names them every one. 
Great is our Lord, and of great power; his wisdom search can none. 

The Lord lifts up the meek and casts the wicked to the ground. 
Sing to the Lord, and give him thanks; on harp his praises sound; 
Who covereth the heav'n with clouds who for the earth below 
prepareth rain, who maketh grass upon the mountains grow.

   2  Thou hast bestowed upon him
         all that his heart would have;

         whate'er his lips did crave.

   3  For thou with blessings him prevent'st
         of goodness manifold;
      And thou hast set upon his head
         a crown of purest gold.

   4  When he desired life of thee,
         thou life to him didst give;
      Ev'n such a length of days, that he
         for evermore should live.

5  In that salvation wrought by thee
         his glory is made great;
      Honor and comely majesty
         thou hast upon him set.

   4  Thou art my King: for Jacob, Lord,
         deliv'rances command.
   5  Through thee we shall push down our foes,
         that do against us stand:

      We, through thy name, shall tread down those
         that ris'n against us have.
   6  For in my bow I shall not trust,
         nor shall my sword me save.

   7  But from our foes thou hast us saved,
         our haters put to shame.
   8  In God we all the day do boast,
         and ever praise thy name.
