traverse is very honored to unveil Berlin-based artist Prieste5s’s first EP on traverse, « Enchantress ».

Her music made its way through various platforms and labels, from Pino Peña’s W133 to Kangding Ray’s ARA and has always had a special place in our ears. Prieste5s’s workflow and research for organic sounds, paired with the minimalism of her production, brings a new depth and drive to her music. From Willow to 10,000 Lux she depicts a powerful landscape full of percs and toms that will get to your mind and feet.

Through Enchantress Prieste5s showcases her love for bass, percussion and hypnotic sounds, building a deep atmosphere and minimalist groove throughout the four tracks.

« Thematically, I take a lot of influences from the natural world, geology, and spirituality. Having studied evolutionary biology previously, I have a fascination for all things relating to natural-history. And as a somewhat spiritual person, I also enjoy exploring through my music the idea of one’s personal connection to the earth. I really like to play with the juxtaposition of technology and nature, both in the process as well as the materials I use. For me, it’s a way of showing that we should still seek harmony with nature even amid the chaos of the modern world. I feel like a big theme in my music is the ephemerality of the natural world and how we as participants of that experience can find ways to connect in a magical, childlike sort of way. »

Cead's eleventh offering delivers a full circle moment for ASOY, who first met label boss Or:la back in 2010. Fast forward fifteen years and the London via Cyprus moniker of SOS collective member Demi proudly presents his debut EP under ASOY.

"3 Boys In Trouble was inspired by an insane collection of live drum recordings from a bunch of street kids in Harlem growing up in the 50's. Coupled with various other percussion samples from other corners of my vinyl collection, it began to set the tone for the track which was to keep it tribal with a very primal feel for it that maintained a tension all the way through"

ASOY - 3 Boys In Trouble

Label co-founder Tal Fineman launches new alias @faulteruk with Obstinacy, a 4-track EP that showcases his penchant for cutting edge, contemporary club sounds.

Spanning a broad spectrum of energy, Obstinacy balances heads-down groove with a meticulous, measured approach to songwriting.

A record of two halves, the EP opens with two peak-time bombs designed to ignite warehouse dancefloors worldwide. First up is the unrelenting techno weapon ‘Perspectives’ (file in your wormhole playlist) followed by a slamming, in-your-face electro wobbler, ‘Data Spike’.

The ‘B-side’ shifts towards deeper shades and organic textures, with the dub techno & minimal-leaning title track 'Obstinacy' - an ideal layering tool for like-minded DJs. Finally, the EP closes with 'Zaf (Dub Mix)', a brooding, delay-laced gem that rounds out the release on a moody note, hinting at much more to come.
