It's my birthday and I happened to get across this composition just as today. Felt kinda bleak with no opportunities to really celebrate the event. So this is my celebration I guess!! And it was a party to make this one. :) Thanks to all you who have listened, supported and commented on my music. jeff tweedy’s bio tried hard to review tunes without capturing whom the song might sound like. so, in that honor here’s my attempt. 

go go go then stop slow and low cookin’ on a recently outlawed 4 burner gas stove. the stock pot has boiling pasta fagioli on the front burner; a low slow rolling boil. simmering on the back burner is honey-dripped sauce soon to be ladled over braised short ribs. paired with a 69 year old black licorice liqueur.

Go Go Go then Stop

This solo piece for the acoustic guitar I made almost five years ago. However, thanks to Mirko Borach it has turned into a duo piece. Mirko just sent me this bass line he’d come up with. And it’s great! It Further embellishes this constant flow of melodic lines, typical for a Zapateado, but with some of Mirko’s roots in funk, fusion and blues. I added a little jazz shuffle drum to it and some typical flamenco percussion and hand clapping. Do check Mirko’s fine bass playing out here: @stringburner

Darren Douglas Danahy wrote a complete demo version of this song in Ableton Live and as is our usual workflow he sent me the whole project and we went from there.

Drums from Stoney were added to replace most of the Digitakt ones, new bass was added by me and another lot of Bass 6 by 3D as well as vocals from Kathy Freeman and Stone.

All in all a fun project and a great track to launch the new BC page, thank you 3D for graciously letting me have your hard earned creativity adorn this and for Kathy and Stone joining in the fun.
