Slipped off Silk, based out of Northville, MI, is the solo-project of singer/songwriter Jonathan Martin. The product of songs written and recorded in a humble bedroom studio, Slipped off Silk utilizes multi-layered vocals and rousing choruses to achieve an alternative rock-pop sound that has been featured by tastemakers both at home, such as Detroit’s Resurget Magazine, and abroad, including the UK’s YACK! Magazine, Ecuador’s Indie Criollo, and the US’s Cheers to the Vikings to name a few. Musical influences include FINNEAS, Oasis, and Oscar Scheller.

Slipped off Silk released a 3 song EP entitled "An Inconvenient Day'' on June 11th. The EP marks an important turn for Slipped off Silk, favoring sensible pop tendencies and deeply honest lyrical content. The EP is an introspective conversation about our hopes, fears, loves, and insecurities.

It was dubbed a “psychological rollercoaster” by Our Sound Music, while Tongue Tied Magazine described the compilation as an EP that “bottles euphoria and sorrow up in one airtight, pop-leaning alt-indie release.” The latter also highlights the “endearing humanness and intense heart” throughout the project.
