Founded in the late 90's by husband and wife team Catt and Victor, Conquest Recordings (originally Conquest and Conquest Records) was the result of a substantial gamble from a small time record shop in Ohio into an international fully functioning label. The first record, The Lion Sleeps, became an instant overnight ragga jungle anthem demanding multiple pressings– and from then, Conquest Recordings was born.

The label moved to Thailand years later and its following began to build momentum around the globe – with Conquest Recordings’ tracks finding their way onto the turntables of world class DJs as well as DMC Scratch champions such as Craze and Swamp.

Several tracks followed this initial success such as War Pigs and Green Murda, which attracted interest from DNB DJs, Metal Heads and Turntablist and gained praise from Warp Records commenting: “45Thieves’ Warpigs Remix even made War sound cool”.

More recently the label has branched out and worked with Jamaican and European artists to push forward its vision of a Danceable Intelligent Jungle sound. Collaborations with London-born DJ Amnesty have been climbing the Dubplate charts as well as tunes with renowned Jamaican dancehall star, Jigsy King.

For 2012, Conquest Recordings is looking forward into multiple digital and vinyl release and to this day, its mission statement has never changed and still stands strong – Junglist No Surrender, Junglist No Retreat!!!

Bol0 is my new electronic music project focused on jungle, dnb, breaks.

Featured on Totally Dubwise Recordings, FreeBurning Records, Big Cat Records, Parent of Nitrous Oxide (N20), and Dlux Dropz. Many other white labels have been released through the years.

My name is Spencer aka Operator. I ventured into the rave/club scene around 93-94 in Ybor, Tampa, and Orlando, listening to the likes of R-Fresh, Icey & Santana. I really liked the breakbeat style; that was my favorite. Not too long after, I heard a Jungle DJ by the name of Screwface on a radio show from Tampa. He mixed some sick tracks. One of my favorites was Long Dark Tunnel by Andy C. After I heard that mix, I was hooked on Jungle.

Moving to LA in late 95, I bought my first set of tables. Started playing at a local club called Louie the 14th while venturing further into Jungle. After not finding enough good Jungle and scratch records in the valley, I ventured to downtown LA and into the record store, where I worked for a number of years. Free Burning Records. I had the privilege to work with Nate Shimizu, owner of N2O records. Around that time, I was working on an old-school Jungle remix production with Chris (Limey) called 100% Pure Jungle Juice, released in 2001 (RIP Mom). Shortly after, the Dlux Dropz Records Label with OD5150 ( Casey Carmack and myself (Operator) was born, featuring vocals from HR of Bad Brains, Buppy Ranks, Stepchylde tha Phoenix, and Oshae - Jeremai Galyon. Also a one-off record on BlackWhite Records. (Good luck finding that one today!) Lastly, a big up to Freeburning Records, where my original 9-11 track spawned.

I also produced a jungle remix of a Slipknot tune. Sid played part of that dubplate on the live double DVD version of Disasterpieces in 2007.

Odes to Oscar Da Grouch, who makes the hottest dubs in the scene. RAW(6Blocc) has the sickest turntable jungle skills on the West Coast (maybe more). J-Love has the illest old-school mixing and production skills. Slick, Rigear, and all the CBS crew who, by far, have some of the sickest graffiti work in LA and beyond. And to all the heads I have yet to mention because this will probably be an ever-growing and changing bio.
