It's time for a chat about wrestling! And what with it being Easter what better time than to discuss the Best Entrance Music For Each Decade! Not every decade, like from the 80s because (as we all know) there was no wrestling before Hulk Hogan. At least thats what Al keeps telling us so it must be true, he wouldn't lie. Anyways, he turns up for most of this podcast to join Euan, Cam and Phil to chat about their favourite music and what they think defined each decade. And we might even get a bit of community feedback as well. Speaking of community, this was the first show we've recorded via discord so hopefully the quality will still be okay, and we're also about to open the discord for one and all so keep your eyes on our Facebook and Twitter as we'll be throwing up the link very soon!

Episode XL: The Best Music Per Decade

Oh good Lord, was this a show. Not necessarily for the content, which I'm sure is as good as always, but more for the rampant technical issues. Discord fell over mid record, Skype issues, all sorts which all made for a fun edit for Phil. But've still got a show out of it, and it's about a cracker of a PPV in the shape of Money in The Bank 2011 Well, it has a cracker of a main event but we'll get to that in the show. It's been a long walk down a rainy beach to get to this episode; not for technical reasons more a combination of Phil's birthday, two broken fridges a heatwave making podcast editing a low priority item for a wee while. But sorted now and that long walk down a rainy beach is sure to end up somewhere fun as we're talking about WrestleMania IV! Yep, the one before V (obvs) which means its Officially Tournament Time! Stop that moaning at the back! It's not The Wresting Classic (at least not quite) so it's probably good. Right? Right. Episode XLIII: WrestleMania IV

The Conquistabores are nothing if not tenacious and part of that is the dream that we will, one day, find a really good WCW pay per view. I mean, they must be out there right? The company lasted for ages so people liked it so they must have put on at least one really good show, right? Keep this in mind as you listen to this new episode which is on WCW Starrcade 1992 Battlebowl The Lethal Lottery II. Yes, there’s a lot to unpack there but, spoilers, we only have one ring so things might not be that bad. Might. So we come to another Round Table Episode as The Conquistabores comes together to discuss the Best Short Lived Wrestling Gimmicks! And what a spread we have, a veritable smorgasbord of delectable treats from the early 90s to the 10s and all sorts in between. Are any of them actually good gimmicks, or terrible ideas that were quickly flushed down the lav? Well, not going to spoil anything but you can probably guess that the flushed to good ratio is pretty high. That's right! As is now tradition was have a LIVE CHRISTMAS EVE TREAT FOR YOU! Thats right, this year we have a quiz straight from the pen of Hot Sauce Geordie Alan! And because its being broadcast live, honest, we have no clue whats going to happen! I mean, Phil could have an existential breakdown and forget what wrestling even is! Euan could reveal hitherto unknown levels of knowledge about an annual wrestling event! And Cam could, I don't know, answer a question or something. All we know is that the Quiz Captain in charge of the Quiz Ship Quiztanic is Alan so who knows what will happen!

Its a new year, which means a new episode just squeaking in before the end of the month. So we've made it; probably years behind schedule but we've done 50 episodes of everyone's fifth favourite (a best) wrestling podcast. And what better way to celebrate than to all sit about watching a terrible wrestling film. Yes, if you've already read the title above, you'll have realised that on this episode Phil, Euan, Cam and Hot Sauce Geordie Al are all sitting down to watch the 1989 Hulk Hogan vehicle No Holds Barred. Is this a good idea? After the sheer joy of the No Holds Barred watch along from last week, what better way to follow up than with SummerSlam 1989? I mean, anything without Zeus probably would have been a good shout but that literally isn't how it works around these parts; we have to embrace the nonsense of The Human Wrecking Machine, enjoy his growling and dive right into the Cauldron of Madness. Luckily thanks to a plague house Phil dodged this particular bullet leaving Cam, Euan and Geordie Al to dry and find some positives out of this classic pay par view. Were they able to? Episode LI: SummerSlam 1989

What better way to celebrate the upcoming crowing of a new monarch that with this show; not only does it have the word Royal in the title but also is for a Royal Trophy! Alright, its essentially a fancy tea pot but its a Royal one so it counts. Anyways, we're back to early 90s WWF which means plenty of neon in the crowd and gimmicks all over the place. Euan, Cam, Phil and Hot Sauce Geordie AL (when he shows up) are ready to go through this show top to bottom will confirm just how Royal it is. By Royal do we mean terrible? I mean, maybe? The only way you'll find out, of course, is to give the show a good old fashioned Royal listen!

After back to back episodes based in London what better than a trip north of the border to...Canada? Yep, we're talking mid-eighties, we're talking Hulkamania, we're talking a baseball stadium! What could go wrong? Well, a fair bit but we're getting ahead of ourselves; join Hot Sauce Geordie Al, Euan, Phil and Cam as they dissect this bonkers show that was only available on VHS and drew a crowd of over 60 thousand. So here we are; the 10 Year Anniversary Episode of The Conquistabores podcast which, in true fashion, is about 3 months late. Episode LXIV: The Best Things in The Last Ten Years(ish)

The Conquistabores are nothing if not on trend which is why they're looking at a SummerSlam PPV in March. Although, apparently this weekend has seen the hottest day of the year so since we can feel the heat why not do a SummerSlam? And its a belter as well as we head on down to the Old Smoke for SummerSlam 1992 in Merry Old England's very own Wembley Stadium. And thats the old slightly rubbish one, not the newer one, the one with the bad sight lines that peaked with Live Aid. Its a roller coaster of a show, and of a podcast as a extra pint for one Geordie Alan causes all sorts of hilarious carnage. Enjoy!

Come with us now as we journey to a time not like any other, and by that I don't mean WCW when RoboCop would show up to help Sting, I mean The Lockdown Times. Yep March 2020 when we could barely leave the house, I'm talking the Performance Centre with no crowds, I'm talking eerily quite rooms with the sounds of wrestling and thats it. But this show is a bit different than the usual Money in the Bank as its all in Titan Towers with the ring on the roof and a load of hijinks along the way. Boy that was a long time to edit; blame a hot summer, birthdays and the youngest making his way to big school. All the emotions! Much like (ahem) watching AWA WrestleRock 1986 which takes you all the way from excitement through to boredom with the odd stop off at "what the hell?" which probably has a German word that sums it up better than that. Due to various scheduling SNAFUs the latest full episode of The Conquistabores hasn't been recorded. So, instead of keeping you good folks waiting, me and Cameron thought that we'd record a short little episode to fill the gap. A recording that ended up going just as long as one of the regular shows.

Anyway, in this inaugural episode of Prime Time Conquistabores Cameron and Phil chew over the bones of the recent NXT Takeover show in London. Prime Time Conquistabores: NXT Takeover London

Thanks to (another) scheduling SNAFU, Prime Time Conquistabores is back! And with Broken Matt Hardy all over social media (via drones, apparently) we thought it time to have a look at TNA. Specifically, what we think was the first step that led to the Final Deletion: Hulk Hogan coming to the six sided ring in 2010. So, Euan Cameron and Phil sit down (each taking two sides of the ring, clearly) and talk through this time in history when TNA really properly thought they could overtake WWE and restart the Monday Night Wars.

Prime Time Conquistabores: TNA Impact 4th January 2010

They said it couldn't be done! Well, specifically Cameron said it couldn't be done but here it is: a podcast recorded on a Thursday and posted on a Sunday. And by that I mean three days later, not in the next season.

Yep, 2017 kicks off with no regular podcast organised so instead find a quick stand in episode with Cam and Phil having a good old chat about 2016 and the good things that it had. Which would be just in wrestling as everything else was a bit shit. And then they finish off by having a look at the return of World of Sport, a prime time wrestling show on British TV. Blimey, wrestling back on TV. What a year eh?

Prime Time Conquistabores: 2016 Review and World of Sport Special

Prime Time Conquistabores is back! And what better way to celebrate the first anniversary of this show that by having a versus special!

Meaning that was totally planned, and it wasn't like we recorded it a month ago and Phil had to deal with a house of illness and baby conjunctivitis and has only just got round to the edit and by sheer luck ended up lining up with the posting of episode one.

Anyway. Cam and Phil step into the ring and go one on one (or two on two, even) with Derek and Chris from the Iconochromatic podcast! Two grizzled smart marks versus two baby faced newcomers to the greatest sport of them all? Oh, it'll be whatever one level is up from a slobberknocker.

So thanks to a random twitter conversation with Andi Hamilton (freelance games writer, wrestling fan and late of Midnight Resistance podcast) Phil ended up watching a match from New Japan Pro Wrestling's New Beginning 2017. And from that, he somehow ended up agreeing with The Miz.

Oh yeah, we’re not fooling around with this one! Cam, Euan, Phil and Geordie Al are breaking out the controllers and the multitaps and sorting out the Fire Pros from the Backyard Wrestlings. Can they actual come to a decision that doesn’t end up with a near blood feud? Just listen to the show and find out, no spoilers here.

Another month another episode! Who would have thought that? Certainly not us and certainly not my laptop which is soon to be retired. In the mean time, this week we've reached back into the past once more to check out The WWF Wrestling Classic which is the first (kind of) Pay Per View they ever held. Witness this astounding 16 man elimination tournament as they look to win...the honour of winning the tournament? That'll due.
