The Conquistabores return! Again! Look, life is tough especially when you’ve got more important stuff to do, like play video games or look after babies. The point is, we’re back and we’re here to talk all about SummerSlam 2002. Cameron, Euan, Phil and Geordie Al are here talking about Kurt Angle versus Ray Mysterio, Rob Van Dam versus…somebody and Rock versus Brock. Episode IV: World War III 1995

The Conquistabores are back right here ON THE INTERNET but this time they come not to talk about one Pay Per View. Oh no. They’re here to talk about FOUR.Well, not all of four PPVs. Four matches, specifically matches for the Intercontinental Championship belt. The storied title, that has suffered somewhat over the last few years, has seen a fair few classic matches fought over it. But only one can be the best, which meant that Cameron, Phil, Euan and Geordie Al had to pick their best match, bring it to the podcast and lay down why they think it’s the best before a final victor is chosen. Episode IX: The Intercontinental Championship Match Challenge

We’re back! With a new logo! And a new guest! Wait, what? A new guest? We haven’t even HAD a guest on the show yet!


And what a guest it is as well: it’s only Richard Penaluna of Calling Spots magazine! Yes, that Calling Spots that is beloved the world over! He invades the show to join Cameron, Euan, Al and Phil in order to talk about the Invasion WWF PPV! Invades/Invasion, clever right? Anyway, after surmounting a whole bunch of serious technincal issues they finally got together and picked apart the bones of this combined WWF/WCW/ECE show to highlight all the negative. And the positives. There were some. A couple at least.

Episode X: Invasion 2001

New year! New podcast! New hosts! Wait, ignore that last one: it’s still the same people only we’re one person down this week.


Yep, Cameron Euan and Phil have showed up but no Geordie Al. Is that because he already had plans on the record date? Or, as the dirt sheets would have it, it’s because this week the topic of discussion is ECW Living Dangerously 1999 on which Hulk Hogan does not appear? The Conquistabores cannot confirm or deny these reports.

It’s another good episode as we look at one of ECW’s shows from 1999, which is pretty much peak wrestling as we confirm on the show. You get chat about ECW and loud crowds and how best to tape up a jaw. Throw in a bit of a review of a recent (at the time of recording at least) ICW show and you end up with an unprotected chair shot to the head of an episode. Which is a good thing? Or at least it was in 1999.

The Conquistabores return! With another SummerSlam! Yay! But this one is of a pure early 1990s vintage, which means Doink! The Smokin Guns! And the red white and blue hero himself Lex Luger! Hey, what? Lex Luger? All American Hero? Oh boy. Geordie Al, Cameron and Phil get together to try and figure out why. Nothing specific really, just…why. Episode VIII: SummerSlam 1993

The Conquistabores return! Thanks to the continued existence of Phil’s new child this new episode was a bit delayed, but no worries because when we did record it was a good one! It was also out of our comfort zone, in that this show’s PPV is from New Japan Pro Wrestling in the form of Wrestle Kingdom 8 in Tokyo Dome! Wait, that’s from this year? And it hasn’t got Hacksaw Jim Duggan in it? Well, it was a wildcard pick and one that was too rich for the blood of Geordie Al so he isn’t here this week but Phil is, delivering a Burning Hammer of Podcast Justice to Euan and Cameron. So, hope you enjoy the show and apologies for the new phrase that gets invented towards the beginning of the show. Still probably a bit too soon but never mind.

Yes folks, we’re back after a short break thanks to the arrival of a new child for Phil so he left Geordie Al to host this weeks show which means that we’re in the 80s WWF in it’s prime for the second annual Royal Rumble. As you can guess Al spends most of the show defending it from the well thought out criticisms as voiced by Cameron and Euan. Episode V: Royal Rumble 1989

Back in the ring, its The Conquistabores! Yes, Cameron, Euan, Phil and Geordie Al are taking on the might that is the Survivor Series of 1995. So that means Goldust and The 1 2 3 Kid and a WWF Champion in the form of Diesel. Big Daddy Cool Diesel? Oh God yes. But not only that, you also get a big bit out female Japanese Wrestling. Oh boy! It’s new podcast time! And this one is all about the wrestling! Thats right, join myself, Cameron Philips, Euan Taylor and Geordie Alan Milburn as we tear into wrestling pay per views from the history of the greatest sport of them all.

That’s right, the one with the Papa Shango run in! But there is some gold to be found here in this vintage early nineties WWF pay per view, let there be no doubt about that!

The Conquistabores return! Well, three of them. Well, two and a half. Listen, podcasting is a tough game and things can't always go smoothly (apologies again to Richard at Calling Spots) and this was a bumpy recording. Was it, however, as bumpy as it was for the people in attendance at Halloween Havoc 1996? Eh? How's about that for a change of tack? 

It's a pay per view with the NWO in their pomp, it's Slim Jim's, it's a bit of a mess to be honest but how much of a mess? Listen to the show and find out what we (as in Phil and Cameron) think of this show from WCW's peak.

Teams of five strive to survive then battle in the Grand Finale Battle of Survival! With teams like The Mercenaries and The Dream Team filled with such luminaries as Paul Roma and Tito Santana it should be a good one! Well, one third of the podcast thinks it'll be a good one but I'll leave who that is up to you to decide.

Thats right, it's back to 1989 and Trump Plaza where Strike Force will explode! Wait, sorry, where the Mega Powers will explode! We're talking Monsoon and Ventura on the mics, Pre-Model Martel and way too many people without their proper music. It's perfect Conquistabores territory, assuming of course that there are no technical hitches and all four of them last the podcast! That'll happen won't it! Ha ha ha! Heh. Anyway. And Trump almost makes it topical! How about that?

It's a Conquista-return as after a couple of Prime Times it's back to the warm and embracing arms of Euan, Cam, Phil and Geordie Al as they set to work on another Pay Per View. This time it's the Royal Rumble from 1992. Yes, it's the Flair Rumble which, given how much they all loved WrestleMania XIII, should mean that this one has a positive response.

But does it though, even with the Greatest Tag Team Of All Time gracing the undercard? Well, you'll just have to listen to find out won't you!

The Conquistadores return to the hallowed halls of WCW yet again for their first ever listener selection! And what a show they have selected: Starrcade 1991: Battlebowl - The Lethal Lottery!

Thats right, not only has it the most convoluted title of a PPV we've looked at so far, but it also has 40 wrestlers! Tag teams! A glittery tombola! Truly this is the pinnacle of early 90s WCW. Or is it? You'll have to listen to Cam, Phil, Euan and Geordie Al as they attempt to figure out just what the hell is going on and, more importantly, why. Nothing else, just why.

Episode XVII: Starrcade 1991 - Battlebowl - The Lethal Lottery

Deep in the heart of the Conquistabores, hidden behind secret doors and buried in the casket the Undertaker built for Kamala, is a secret tome that contains the Do’s and Don’ts of The Conquistabores. And right up at the top, even before “Kayfabe, brother”, the Number One Rule is “Never Go Back To Back WCW”.

Well, rules were made to be broken so thats just what we’ve done as we go to WAR with WCW WrestleWar 1992. Yes, we’re talking two rings, ten wrestlers, a pinch of logic and a whole heap of pyro. And we might just about end up with a WCW pay per view that turns out to be…pretty decent? How decent it is you’ll have to listen to the the show as two renegade rule breaking Conquistabores in the form of Cameron and Phil continue their quest to find a good WCW PPV.

Oh yeah, we’re not fooling around with this one! Cam, Euan, Phil and Geordie Al are breaking out the controllers and the multitaps and sorting out the Fire Pros from the Backyard Wrestlings. Can they actual come to a decision that doesn’t end up with a near blood feud? Just listen to the show and find out, no spoilers here.
