to celebrate dusk

ingesting the outside
intestines grind time
eyes held in beak gaps
in fog-shrouded dusk

earthworks to fence in
the thwarted old ways
voraciously stalking
on dewy-eyed dawn
ditches to keep out
those preying on dawn
