To compliment J.Sparrow's sublime contribution and to also complete the package, the Black Butter Records assosciated and Bristol-based outfit Sly-One have whipped up an outright banger of a remix. Joe Cannon, Dave Constant and Oliver Read can already boast an admirable set of releases in the four years since they've joined forces, featuring on Shifting Peaks, Lost In Translation and 877 Records. Add that to a rude collaboration with fellow Bristol head & rasta emcee Buggsy and a remix for Bad Mojo on Meanbucket, Sly-One had clearly meant business from the offset - and have shown absolutely no let up for us at Albion Collective. Served with a side order of the trio's classic subtle cowbell hits, their 2-step/bassline fusion works wonders with the vamped-up vocal sample and is ready and waiting to rumble clubs & festivals for the end of summer and beyond.

Why do we tell stories?

We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs.

But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human.

The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun.

Beginning with Overcoming The Monster, Chapter 24 has gathered artists from across the globe to bring these themes to life for its Seven Stories VA series.

Up-and-coming Dutch producer and Paradigm resident Malbetrieb (SoHaSo, Selador) opens proceedings with ‘Epic’. Fiendish acid licks intertwine with soaring vocal pads and uplifting top lines in a driving, melodic track.

One of the biggest producers in Ukraine, Stas Drive (Hope, Sudbeat) is up next with the titanic ‘Aphrodite’. A tribal tech groove pounds forth, underpinned by brooding and mysterious atmospheres.

Enter Dragon Suplex, a twin-headed tune producing beast from Switzerland who deliver the third track with ‘Mystified’ feat. Samzing. Another behemoth, this one is equally dark and banging, bringing a good dose of tension to proceedings.

As the compilation advances to its denouement, a little brightness starts to pierce through the storm clouds. Hailing from Peru, a breeding ground for young talent in the underground house scene, Frank Serin strikes a more hopeful tone with ‘La Sonrisa de la Mujer’.

‘Somnium’ by the London-based Chapter 24 boss Sam Pauli and label regular Reiver enhances the dreaminess on offer. A drifty, hypnotic and emotive cut unfolds into a tremendous, musical break.

Finally, the compilation ends with a focus on French producer Anton Dhouran. Having already been signed by Diynamic and with music forthcoming on Jeudi Records, Anton deploys his considerable skills on ‘Meyah’, a deep, groove-laden number enhanced by ethereal pads. The real story, however, comes with ‘A Kind Of Light’ which closes the narrative with a heroic instrumental tale.

They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories.

And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical formulation, "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away…

Having contributed such a spectacular visual element to Conspiracy thus far, the Nativo EP comes as a very welcome shift for Yokobus, who finally returns to his own native roots in music for his debut release with his own crew – their most melodic exploration yet.
 
The thing about Yokobus is, regardless of his outrageous ability to design, produce, and certainly party harder than most… He’s just a Regular Guy. Something he really wants you to know in the EP’s first track, greeting his listeners with melodic stabs that weave through empty space before the track’s titular ‘guy’ requests nothing more than a groove. Of course, Yokobus takes absolute pleasure in obliging with an undeniably punchy low-end that whips out of the spaced-out haze and into solid, shape-cutting jams.
 
Taking a darker turn, Nativo’s primal, groaning bass rolls into the EP’s titular track with an ominous tone, only to be outdone by a haunting melody that signals there is a lot more to come. Finally, the call of the wild beckons it’s victims into a trap of twisting percussion and grinding pads that drive this glitchy groover home.
 
Conspiracy’s own Nate-ure Boy steps back out of the jungle and into the spotlight for a thumping remix of his Italian brother’s first offering to the label. With his signature teched-out flair, Nate S.U takes Regular Guy and makes it anything but regular (and that’s not to say it was to begin with). A crisp introduction playing off Yokobus’ melodic dissertation in the original mix is abruptly interrupted with the biggest bass line we’ve heard thus far from Nate, complimented by perfectly wobbly highs and a snappy hat that make this the perfect roller.

The year is 2012. 

Conspiracy theorists and fundamentally terrible Hollywood directors alike are enraptured by the prospect of our planet's doom at the hands of a mysterious 'twelfth planet' - yet seven years later Earth remains untouched.

While the twelfth planet did not destroy us that fateful year, Nibiru did indeed come into contact with Earth and with it, came the return of the Annunaki. An immeasurably intelligent alien race you may remember for creating such wonders as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Gardens of Babylon and the Game of Thrones.

So. What gift did the Annunaki bestow upon humankind in 2019?

Enter Elijah Something and Nate S.U. 

Long before the Conspiracy Crew had formed, a time where Elijah's upper lip was but a hint of a shadow compared to the fully-formed lepidoptera we see today and Nate's skin remained inkless, the pair received an extraterrestrial visit.

Their meeting with the Annunaki gave them wisdom beyond our human understanding. But they were not alone. Ten others across seven countries also received the alien touch, along with the promise of a Captain Planet-esque merging of talent should the lucky twelve ever unite.

It may have taken seven years of searching and the recruitment of an additional three degenerates to help them in their quest, but Something and S.U achieved their goal. The twelve have found each other.

The result? Nibiru: a collection of eleven otherworldly tracks from the advanced minds of those chosen few, set to elevate your consciousness to a superhuman level and leave you dancing on another planet.
