Up next in our series is a live recording from Edward's set at this year's Gottwood Festival.

Berlin-based DJ and producer Edward (Gilles Aiken) is a true master of his craft, known for hypnotic sets that merge groovy, shadowy rhythms with a cosmic edge.

A mainstay of Berlin's 'WHITE' label, Frankfurt's '@die-orakel', and Weimar's iconic @giegling. Edward's latest release sees him join forces with @ricardo-villalobos-official on the revered @perlon-berlin label.

His Friday set during the @Trommelmusic takeover at Gottwood was a  journey through his signature sound, perfectly reflecting the festival’s eclectic vibe.

Frederik Neu - What are you listening to?

I tried to combine a lot of tracks which are connected with memories or influenced me in my musical development. Therefore the mix got very personal for me. It’s a mix of music which I would call experimental, electro pop and some house, so I stayed in electronic genres which was not intended when I started my research.

I really wanted to stick to the idea of this series and don’t have a focus on club music, still there are a few tracks which could be played in a club but in general this is all listening music to me. 

In this mix the connections between single tracks were not my focus, although I tried to sort them in a way which made sense for me. A really important part of DJing in general for me is to catch the vibe of the moment and of course this is not possible with a pre selected sequence of tracks. So I would call this more a collection of tracks which have a big emotional value for me than a real DJ Mix.

I‘m super happy about the opportunity to actively occupy myself with my musical background. Of course I‘m listening to a lot more genres in my free time but this would go beyond the scope for this mix.

For our tenth mix in our burgeoning series, we've shaken the format up a bit. Having previously put out exclusively live recordings from our parties and Bonanza, this time we have a nice, juicy studio mix from our friend Wyndham.

I (Ben) first met Wyn at Freerotation in 2022, where we immediately formed a strong bond over music and the unity that specific dance floors can bring. Having taken the plunge to go solo to Freero, Wyn returned the favour and hopped across the Atlantic to attend Bonanza 2023, playing on the Thursday night with fellow deep digger and BFF Sami. 

A champion of clean grooves, nifty breaks and immaculate mixing, Wyn delves deep into his bag of classic tech house and breaks for a 3 hour voyage here on Rio 010. You can catch him playing on the beach at Bonanza 2025 in a few weeks, as well as his Swivel label parties throughout the year back in London.

Welcome Loafy Tuners, we are back with our regular programming after last month's label special. We are very excited to have Close Ties with us in the studio this month. Close Ties is the party series run by hospitality professionals Joshua and Jake. Curating the vibe of a michelin star house party, the events bring together underground club music, high quality drinks and chefs from across the London food scene. Guest DJ's are hand picked from across the spectrum, with techy and deep house being the flavour of choice for the Close Ties founders.
Laib und Seele Records' own Natalia will be taking over the hosting duties for this month's episode, being in charge of the vibes for the first hour. So expect some fierce tunage warming up for Joshua and Jake.
