Modern Nostalgia proudly presents Remixed, a bold and diverse reimagining of Resonant Robot's catalog, showcasing fresh perspectives from a carefully curated lineup of producers. This EP breathes new life into select tracks from the artist's previous releases on the label, channeling the spirit of innovation and underground authenticity that defines Modern Nostalgia.

Gerwin van Engelenburg returns to the imprint with a sharp, broken-beat interpretation of In The Underground, steering it confidently into electro territory. His remix pulses with raw energy, merging rhythmic complexity with a deeply rooted club sensibility.

Legendary producer Robert Babicz takes the ethereal Eternal Echoes and transforms it into a lush, melodic techno journey. With his signature sound design and emotional depth, Babicz adds a dreamy, progressive atmosphere that elevates the original into a hypnotic new dimension.

Label founder Kimyou steps out from behind the scenes to rework Can You Hear My Call, delivering a stripped-down yet funky minimal take. It's a cerebral yet danceable cut, perfectly aligned with the label's ethos of understated innovation.

Mit Franca’s „Reise durchs Regal“ präsentiere ich euch heute eine meiner absoluten Lieblingskünstlerinnen. Entdeckt habe ich Franca erst vor ca. 1 Jahr ... doch seitdem sind ihre Sets nicht mehr aus meinem Alltag wegzudenken. Besonders hervorzuheben sei hier das Fusion Tanzwüsten Set von 2016 und natürlich Kater Blau - Heinz Hopper Floor … was eine stimmungsvolle Reise.

Es war der Schulbusfahrer, der Franca mit elektronischer Musik anfixte – guter Mann. Das war 1996. 10 Jahre und einige Plattenkäufe später zog es die Münchenerin nach Köln, wo sie fester Bestandteil des Feines Tier-Rudels und WIR Schwestern-Kollektivs wurde. Wer die Dame einmal hinter den Reglern erleben durfte, spürt sofort, warum sie sich immer wieder die uneingeschränkte Aufmerksamkeit ihres Publikums erspielt: Sie ist der Crowd stets drei Platten voraus und legt House- und Technotunes in einer Mischung auf, welche ihresgleichen sucht. Franca ist ein begehrter Gast, aber kein bedrängter Star.

Aber auch als Producerin hat sich Franca schon einen Namen gemacht. Ihre erste Solo-EP „Epiphany“ auf meinem Lieblings-Label URSL hat gleich eingeschlagen wie eine Bombe. Auch hier wird wohl noch mehr zu hören sein … hoffentlich. 

Für sound(ge)cloud wollte Franca mal was anderes machen. Musik die auch auf dem Sofa funktioniert und das ist ihr mehr als gelungen. Seit einer Woche wohnt Franca nun im Amsterdam und beim Ausräumen ihres Platten-Regal kam ihr die Idee für den Mix … eine Reise durchs Regal zu machen. So entstand ein Mix aus alten und neuen Lieblingen und Fundstücken die eben in so einem Regal schlummern … entspannt, funky und doch mitreisend. Franca tausend Dank für diese unwiderstehliche Reise.

Wir wollen ein Komplettpaket anbieten - aus Musik, Text und Bild, welche möglichst aufeinander abgestimmt sind! Dazu arbeiten wir unter anderem mit Fotografen und Autoren zusammen. Es sollen möglichst mehrere Personen (Fotografen, DJs, Producer und Autoren) an einem Podcast arbeiten, sodass eine sich ergänzenden Komposition entsteht. Dieses kunstvolle Arrangement soll immer eine interessante Geschichte erzählen, die der Konsument mit allen Sinnen erfassen kann. Dabei werden Grenzen überschritten und Menschen zusammengeführt, die ansonsten wohl keinen Bezug zueinander gehabt hätten. Ob sich nun Fotografen einen Podcast aufs Ohr packen und sich auf die Suche nach einen passenden Schnappschuss machen oder Produzenten sich von einem Text inspirieren lassen, vorgeschriebene Vorgehensweisen gibt es nicht. Der gemeinsame kreative Entwicklungsprozess ist das Ziel.

Mit dieser Vision haben wir uns aufgemacht die Welt der elektronischen Podcasts um eine Nuance zu bereichern. Wir haben seitdem viele einzigartige Künstler kennengelernt und wunderbare Synergien unter dem Deckmantel der elektronischen Tanzmusik erzeugt. Vor ungefähr einen halben Jahr sind wir auf die Werke von Alex Doering gestoßen und haben einen Artist gefunden, der unsere Philosophie mit ganzem Herzen auslebt. Zusammen mit Autor Michael Kolain hat er ein Hörspiel über und mit Musik geschaffen, was wir so bisher noch nicht erlebt haben. Auf seiner Seite steht folgendes dazu:

„Dieses Hörbuch ist ein Experiment und eine Symbiose zugleich.
Die Musik trägt den Text und der Text verstärkt die Musik.

Wir waren so begeistert von diesem Gesamtkunstwerk, dass wir Alex nach einer Fortsetzung gefragt haben. Er war sofort angetan von dieser Idee und hat sich wieder zusammen Michael Kolain ans Werk gemacht. Herausgekommen ist statt einer Fortsetzung seines Hörspiels "Spätsommer 27" eine unglaublich detailverliebte musikalische Neuinterpretation von bekannten Gedichten und philosophischen Texten. Durch die Harmonie von Text und Musik entsteht eine große atmosphärische Dichte, die den Zuhörern durch dieses Set begleitet. 
Lasst euch auf eine etwas andere Art entführen in die Welt der Dichter und Denker!
