Soulfooled's upcoming release 'Venus Rising' hails all the way from Miami. Russian producer Kate Ozz has submerged herself in the sunny club circuit of Florida's most buzzing town, where her fine musical skillset did not go unnoticed by some established players like Solomun and Black Coffee. Kate produced a solid melodic house record with three originals and an Ivory remix.

Title track 'Venus' is a musing track, which heavily leans on rich bass synths. The tune surprises when an agitated, urgent female voice enters the stage.

To add a different perspective to the record, Soulfooled invited Ivory to rework 'Venus'. The Italian DJ has made a good name for himself, having his most recent releases played in almost every set of Dixon or Solomun lately. In Ivory's remix of 'Venus' (90's Revenge) we still hear the voice, but Kate's bass soundscape is gone. Ivory did add a fresh, uplifting key part, which reminds you immediately of a distinctive 90's sound. 'Transformation' builds on the Venuses' energies, kicking off with a rich sound in the low regions. The track evolves towards a characteristic piece with intensive hovering synths that enter and leave the song at their own pace.

Kate's EP 'Venus Rising' closes with 'High Vibrations', is a slow burner, keeping the soundscape fairly minimal. However, the track builds to be a sweet melodic classic to nicely wrap up the record.

Altogether 'Venus Rising' is a strong pack from Soulfooled camp.

'After the imminent success of their latest release, 'Dingane' on Anjunadeep, that featured prized remixes by international heavyweight, Powel, as well as South African Deep House leader, Fka Mash, well established African electronic band, Bantwanas are back with another mesmerising release on their very own Bantwanas Kollektiv imprint, 'Backside', that features a massive remix by none other than German maestro, Younion owner and Keinemusik artist, Re.You.

Starting things off, Bantwanas selectively assembled the instrumentation of the song around their heritage in the African landscape with a finnes that they've become known for. Brooding synth lines, well articulated guitar rhythms and brilliantly arranged vernacular vocals flow throughout the track that is backed up by an energetic and dance inducing percussive rhythm. Playing with the tension and release of the harmonics like only they can do, Bantwanas follow up their past success with grace and lead things forward with a true winner in their catalogue.

Deep, scintillating bass and a haunting use of the original vernacular vocals signify the sound of Re.You's extravagant yet simultaneously understated remix of Bantwanas, 'Backside'. A late-night dance floor bomb is definitely a phrase coined with a track like this in mind. Tight drum rhythms, syncopated percussion and a catchy melody brings the remix all together, closing the release off with a tantalising taste of Re.You's signature sound that helped captivate his listeners from the very beginning.'

Spaniard talents Clemente and Thimble join forces for the first time creating Magnetic.

Magnetic is a gathering of synthesized and organic sounds, where at first we can perceive an Afro-Indie influence where the use of the Prophet rev 2 synth can be distinguished to create a vibrant and slightly syncopated bass as well as the Moog Sub37 to create a stab that brings intensity to the track.

White Magician perfectly shows how the Afro sounds have influenced them, using a wide range of sounds that remind of this genre. Bright splashy chords show up as the track grows, resting on an underlying harmonic base, which gives warmth and harmonic sense to the song.

Aldebaran delivers a reinterpretation of White Magician full of acid and noisy sounds with a dreamy flavor inspired by the hypnotic toms and the crazy drums.

Silent Types is the single of this EP, it comes in two versions and is accompanied by a monumental remix by Nico Morano.

The Piano Version, is a very touching song where the warm vocal takes the lead, layered beautifully and guided by an eminent piano composition. Next we get the 'Original Mix', where Boy Oh Boy focused clearly on the summer open airs. It's a steady dance-floor structure with a nifty groove and a solid beat, but without loosing the emotional character of the warm vocal.

Many Hours Later is the second song of this release, it's a progressive banger as we like them! A strong bassline, a tight kick drum, neat percussion and another amazing vocal by 'Age is a Box'! The breakdown has got us from the first time and the drop following is pure goosebumps.

Put down your guitar, this track is Stoopid and Electro. I'm always looking for sounds I've never heard before. This is, admittedly, a former Kadeshavara track! Which means it is a JPS Grooves track too! So even though it wasn't created for SnowCone MathFest, I gave it a really nice remaster treatment and knew that it would fit in just perfect with neon electric SnowCone MathFest vibe I've been looking for. You can find it in Infinity Lake on the app, or the Jukebox there as well. As usual, you have to put up with my exposition for a little bit before you get to the cool solos and good stuff; give it a minute, let it breathe and you'll hear some pretty cool Stoopid Electro.
