British artists Nick Woolfson and Filippo Rocco are Metropolitan Soul Museum, a duo that’s been releasing music with a partly deeper touch as well as broken and heavily hitting basslines, sometimes more atmospheric, more experimental and more ambient-like to then strike with a club-oriented take knocking people off their dancing shoes. For the latest mini-LP, Smooth Machine Control. Filippo and Nick have gathered six tracks of the artists’ current musical being picking up on the before mentioned to come up with a versatile yet coherent release. The mini-LP kicks off with Sumar’s Table, or in Metropolitan Soul Museum’s style, with a broken bassline that one would assume to be found in genres like Bass but in this case can be rather ascribed to Minimal taking a deeper twist. The latter is evoked by the deep synth-line. However, Sumar’s Table captivates listeners due to the implementation of bleeps and beeps, little freaky futuristic sounds that twirl and curl in the track's arrangement and turn the track into a voyage through electronic music’s more experimental side.

'Australian house and techno pioneers Unknown Associates land on their label with a new single that features remixes from fellow underground mainstays Denney and Jacqui Cunningham.

Unknown have spent a decade fomenting their own scene in Wollongong, having thrown more than 300 raves to date. They were the first crew to throw a weekly techno party - Institute Of Dance ran for five years - and they have hosted a who's who of top names from Denis Sulta & Jayda G to DJ Boring and Patrick Topping. Unknown Records is another feather to their bow and it's dropped fresh music from the likes of Kolombo, former Infusion man Francis Xavier and many more.
The excellent 'Handle It' is a twitchy bit of backroom techno. The rumbling drums sweep you up while the pulsing synths bring a sense of paranoia. There is subtle funk in the groove, with fleshy chords and steamy vocals bringing both a sense of sweat and seduction. It's a full flavour cut destined to stand out in any set.

Denney is the first to remix and is a UK talent synonymous with no-frills, high-class house sounds on a range of labels from Hot Creations to Moon Harbour. He brings his own unique flavours with a more textured and raw rework. His drums hit with a tech house edge as the slapping hits and taught synth stabs get dancers on their toes.

Jacqui Cunningham supplies a second remix and is the owner of Sydney’s GiRLTHING, which celebrates queer culture with epic pride parties amongst many other community-minded events. Her music fuses luscious arrangements of disco to pure house rhythms, one of Sydney’s most notable players. Her remix is eight minutes of classy dance floor pressure that twists and turns endlessly on lithe synths and hooky melodic sounds. It's loose yet driving and erupts later on with a darker energy that will take any dance floor up a level.

This is another red-hot package from the illustrious Unknown Records.'

Moozeic, a project created by Joici Borges and Manuella Wintrich in 2015 from Jaraguá Do Sul, Brazil, returns to the Mexican imprint Kyma Komplex to reveal their latest extended play, titled 'Continuum 6'. The EP features two amazing original mixes and is accompanied by four outstanding remixes by Cometran, Luca Lucena, Forest Louche & Lorran.

Moozeic is created with the aim of expressing experiences and knowledge lived by the duo through music. The exceptional introduction to this journey is 'Continuum 6'. The resounding synthesizers and percussion beat create an ancestral atmosphere that begins to elevate us to a higher state of mind, allowing us to connect with the source.

Once the connection is made, 'Pandora 9' starts with the mystical, astral synthesizers and organic elements that melt and suck you into the endless tunnel, showing us the story of our life, our memories, our moments. It's our creation that makes each one distinct and irreplaceable. Crafted from unique experiences, it becomes an unparalleled masterpiece.

Regarding the remix duties of 'Continuum 6', it starts with Cometran, offering a cut that is more chaotic and energetic, filled with electrifying sounds, a solid arp-bass line, glitchy percussions, and a booming drum. Its hypnotic and frenetic quality continues in the trance state. Next comes Luca Lucena with his version of 'Pandora 9', featuring a resonant synth pad, alarms, punchy kicks, and the eastern vocal. This evokes an atmosphere reminiscent of bygone decades with retro-futuristic and spatial touches, showcasing a versatile sound.

The final two remixes, made by Forest Louche & Lorran, are equally remarkable. The first is oriented towards the dancefloor, based on futuristic timbres, immersed in a tropical forest, with clear vocals, reverberating percussions, and blazing synths. Finally, the EP concludes with Lorran’s remix. It's playful and mysterious, resonant and hallucinating, with haunting vocals that feel like they're taking you deep inside.
