I recently attended a party with my nearest and dearest in an undisclosed location. When stepping up to the decks to play alongside 2 of my closest compadres, I discovered that the only Hard-Drive containing my playlists for our set wasn't being recognised by the CDJs in use! 

Panic ensued! (>_<)

Thankfully on arriving in the field I had found a USB that I'd recently lost with some older playlists. Whilst maintaining somewhat of a straight face and holding back the attacks of panic, I managed to mish-mash mixes together for the following 3 hours, heavily assisted by having 2 of the best (Clara & Seb) mixing in and out of my train-wreck set.

Lessons learned:
1 - Always bring a backup USBs (preferably with up to date playlists)
2 - DJing B2B with amazing selectors makes life a whole lot easier

Repping the Sydney music scene for well over a decade, Tim Butler unleashed his new project, Special Circumstances late 2017.

Previously producing under the alias ‘Boot’ as a Dubstep producer, Tim has since shifted his style towards the deep, cerebral and hypnotic sounds of Grey Area.

Regimented but never formulaic, Special Circumstances pushes the envelope, often challenging what’s possible outside of the realm of cookie-cutter electronic music. Intricate polyrhythms, dark atmospherics and otherworldly synth programming form the bedrock of Special Circumstances' musical manifesto.

Above all, the juxtaposition of eerie, haunting moods and dance floor vibes is one that few know how to pull off, and we at Construct are fortunate enough to feature one of Sydney’s finest masters of the dark for our debut Constructions mix.
