Antiphysis review: "Let's be frank: the 'coldwave revival' is often a landfill of derivative drum machines and forced baritone vocals. So, color me surprised when this new track from Allani refused to be so easily dismissed.

From the first bars, it's clear this isn't mere pastiche. The production is the star here—a driving, Moroder-esque bassline provides a propulsive, danceable spine, but it's the textures swirling above it that captivate: harsh yet ethereal, like shattered glass reflecting a black light.

The vocal delivery is a masterstroke of restraint. Instead of melodramatic gothic tropes, we get a hypnotic, almost monotone incantation. It feels less like a performance and more like a barely-heard transmission from a state of dissociative clarity.

Lyrically, it’s a cut above as well. This isn't just "spooky" word salad. Lines about the "15th card walking in my room" and "flowers on the pyre" suggest a mind wrestling with a tangible, esoteric dread. The final, stark image of "stains on the earth" lands with the weight of a genuine ritual's aftermath.
