Dusty Cut's songs are about friendships and loves gained and lost, fights in restaurants, ancient cities and the sea. The band splits its time between Cardiff and Pembrokeshire and released their debut album 'Hawaii' in October 2017. 

Formed by Phil Jones in Bristol, Dusty Cut started by playing indie folk songs at house parties where everyone wanted to listen to dubstep. Tom Holcroft and Thomas Hollick joined after meeting on the Bristol open-mic circuit. This forged a warm sound that incorporates moody folk, 70s rock and a slight hint of strangeness inspired by eccentrics like Sufjan Stevens, Arthur Russell and Joanna Newsom.

Youth Music Project in Leith.

Bainbridge Youth Music (BYM) aims to provide a unique musical experience for kids aged between 10 and 18 within Bainbridge Walk Studio, based on Iona Street in Leith.
 
BYM gives young people the chance to spend a few hours every week learning how to play in a band and make new friends. With the guidance of trained, experienced tutors, we help attendees learn their favourite songs and learn to write new songs as a band. At the end of each term there will be an opportunity to record some tracks in Bainbridge Music’s professional recording studio, and play a gig!
 
All instruments and equipment are provided for by Bainbridge Music, and the recording is overseen by a professional record producer to get the best possible results from the studio time. All this is provided FREE OF CHARGE in conjunction with Creative Scotland. All the attendees have to do is turn up, plug in, and rock out!!
 
As well as the enjoyment benefits of playing in a band and making new music and new friends, each BYM term gains a Dynamic Youth Award, which is worked through with the tutors as part of the course. This award makes up a quarter of a Bronze Youth Achievement Award. This is supplemented each term by a qualified business mentor to give advice on learning and career opportunities opening up through BYM attendance.
