Guy, Tom and Brendan aka. Customs are an integral part of the London record-collecting and DJ-ing scene. Last year, you may have listened to them spinning (and spectacularly beat-matching)their incredibly engaging sound at one of their regular appearances at Giant Steps and Brilliant Corners, or maybe you even made it down to XOYO, when the trio was invited by Hunee to join for his residency. 

Customs also regularly throw their own parties at a secret loft space in North-East London. Always careful to support a younger generation of DJs, guests have included the Phaser Boys (residents from Düsseldorf's recently re-opened Salon des Amateurs) and French collective Bruts De La Passion. If you prefer a dash of chit-chat to the music, you can also listen to them as occasional guests on Charlie Bones' NTS breakfast show.

For 5918mins., the trio puts together a sound that may be described as "London-Drip" - in the rainy-wet sense of the word. A mix very much oriented towards the influence Dub/Digi-stuff had on 90s London rave culture, with wonderful half-time/double-time seminal Jungle/Drum-n-Bass elements perfectly curated for the rainy season. 

One may be forgiven to sense a wee bit of nostalgia, as this mix - to Customs - perfectly captures some of the different sides of their musical upbringing within the UK-scene. ("And playing GTA III at home listening to Moving Shadow")

You know what this bizarrest of spring-times could use more of? Feelgood music. Specifically: sweet, melodic, off-kilter eclectic dance-not-dance music. That’s just what Audrey Danza delivers in spades in this light, breezy mix. The Geneva-based DJ is in perpetual search for experimental sounds and new ways to blend music. Currently making a name for herself in the scene, she is now an established resident at Geneva’s emblematic club, Motel Campo. In parallel, she just announced the launching of her new label, PROXIMA, with some promising reissues coming up in the next months.

Bristol's local legend, Tilly hosts one of the best radio shows about, transmitting on both Noods & NTS. Away from the airwaves, Tilly is an insanely captivating club DJ, regularly turning the dance floor's a frenzy with an array of adventurous selections. 

For the podcast, Tilly has bundled together a wide variety of vintage oddities; touching on bouncy Italo, Minimal Synth and greasy New Beat in her usual  eclectic style.

Rounding off the year is non-other than Kayne The Hermit. He's one of the best young diggers around, consistently releasing some of the most interesting mixes online. Kayne also hosts the impeccable 'The Hermit Show,' a traveling radio show with a selection of killer guests.

In true Hermit style, Kayne's presented a podcast full of unheard rarities touching on pretty much everything and anything from lo-fi Bhangra to cosmic Disco and sleazy Garage.

Of course, we are all experienced listeners here and love obscure music from all over the world, but during the time of listening to this mix, my jaw dropped from surprise several times.
