Hemoglobin is Kokoro's first release ever. Consistent with his visions as a musician, he  aims to provoke an existential curiosity into his listeners. To express this, he created an ambient environment with a driving bassline that evolves throughout the track. All of this builds towards a satisfying drop marked by the heavy percussive elements all simultaneously coming together — a departure from the more slowly developing drops more common in his music. This dramatic build up and emotional climax, relentlessly conjures a sense of wonder into listeners, who will be left pondering their place in the cosmos. 

Kokoro is a techno maker living, producing, and performing in Downtown Los Angeles. Inspired by the city’s burgeoning underground techno scene, hosted in abandoned Skid Row warehouses, Kokoro hides away in his DTLA studio like a mad scientist in a laboratory — laser-focused on breeding mysterious, rhythmic landscapes that build to immense, sub-rattling drops. He aims to create emotional environments with his music - environments that evoke a sense of philosophical curiosity to the listener.

Grebenstein and Seefried – radical autodidact and trained musicians – have been working together for 6 years between longer periods of rest, intensive musical output emerged in short and concentrated sessions. A stripped back way of working, with only one drum machine, one synthesizer, and one voice, is reflected in the minimalistic and uncompromising songs they produce. Those who get drawn into the songs of the duo will find themselves simultaneously shocked into overdrive and lulled into a temporary peace – always guided by Seefried’s warm and deep voice.

At the end of 2019, in the year of the label’s 25th anniversary, they will be back on Regis’ Downwards Records with their new release “Raging Tender“.

Sok O is Antin Hale’s debut release on contrast. After some success with his first EP, “It’s Strange”, he has begun evolving his musical taste and expanding it to include more techno-based grooves and rhythms. “Sok O” is the first step in this process as it slowly builds in complexity along a driving bassline. Haunting synths and an atmosphere that swirls around the listener bring emotional content to this dance track.

Antin Hale is a producer living and performing in Seattle, WA. Frequenting the historic venues and iconic skyline while constantly studying music has helped Antin Hale craft a unique sound that can be felt and heard across his tracks. Wexler - Trouble

Impulse, a track blended with elements from techno and industrial, is Dyadic’s debut release on contrast recordings. The single features driving drum patterns, massive kicks, echoing bass stabs, mechanical FX, and dark drops that resonate with the more evil parts of the mind. The pads and arpeggiated lead add dramatic effect to this sinister release.

From Dyadic, the Los Angeles-based duo: “Going in, we really wanted to make something very evil and dark. We started out by creating a 16 bar pattern and then spreading out the arrangement once we had most of the drum and bass elements. With the arrangement done, we then dove into inserting fills, atmospheres, risers, and impacts. Lastly, we put in some pads and arpeggiated leads to add harmonious tension.”

Dyadic is the duo of NY-based Colin Youngwall and LA-based Giancarlo Ferrando. While Colin grew up DJing, Giancarlo was heavy into production. Upon meeting, they unified their skills and discovered prodigious creative chemistry, all while growing a deep affection for techno. This led to the inevitable formation of Dyadic, a project expounded by its hard-hitting rhythms, deep basslines, and brooding tendencies.

Canadian duo Joluca follow up slamming releases on Perfect Driver and Psycho Disco with a new EP on Gene Farris' Farris Wheel Recordings. "Automatic" is a techy two-tracker with a healthy dose of raw electronic funk with both the title track and b-side "Don't Wanna Talk" delivering rolling grooves, sizzling synth lines, and crisp percussion. Joluca is the combined efforts of Adam Johan and David Luca; a brotherly duo brought together by their love for peak-time rollers and studio jammin'. On this release, they collaborated with LA-based DJ and producer Travis Emmons and Edmonton-based vocalist Daniela Fernandez.

American duo Luces make their debut on Get Physical with a beautiful pair of house tracks.
Felix Bloxsom and Caleb Cornett have landed on Need Want and Let’s Play House before thanks to their charming and organic house sounds. They bring plenty of open air and natural vibes to their grooves and across both cuts here they really have you in dream mode.
Fantastic opener ‘Adios’ is a track to get you swaying with hands in the air. The lush chords ring out into a spring time sky, with plenty of warmth and feel-good emotions. A dynamic lead synth rises and falls before washing over you like sun breaking through the clouds, and it’s easy to see this one becoming a big hit this summer.
On the flip, ‘Freak Show’ slows right down to a crawl. The beautifully lazy, heavy drums suck you in deep while Luces’s excellent synth are allowed to roam, drift and smudge about up top. It’s an expansive track that will be a prime warm up weapon for the outdoor parties that are just around the corner.
These are two tasteful tunes that bring real house richness to Get Physical. Tracklist:

I AM BAM is a talented artist who started his career as a session musician and songwriter working in different studios between L.A. and New York. Working in those studios he learnt skills from some of the world’s best producers, and experimenting with different ideas, has helped develop his compelling style of dark techno.

“You Know” opens the release with ethereal vocals that add to the trippy melodies and breath euphoria over the pounding percussion. Lifting the intensity, “Orbital” has warping synths and fast flowing rhythms that tantalise the senses. Dramatic and full of charisma “10X” has a spooky atmosphere perfect for capturing the imagination of the dance floor. Closing proceedings with bursts of energy and hypnotising tones, “Immersion” has the peak time sound that runs throughout this masterpiece of modern techno.

Track one Destroyer opens the release with an old-school flare that tips its hat to the classic rave sound.Next up is The Sacred which keeps the same aggressive energy as its predecessor with a stompingbassline and slamming groove. Android closes off the EP with rumbling sub bass and a stripped backatmosphere filled with ominous tension.
