For Dyslecta's debut on vinyl, and follow up to his contribution to Out of Sorts' inaugural VA, he serves up four slabs of rugged, UK techno, with influences from the early swamp sound, 2000s hard groove and classic tech house. Thresher kicks off the release with a high-energy, claustrophobic affair topped off with rattling percussion and synths which turn your head inside out. Since his last outing on Control Freak with the sold-out Bunzunkunzun EP, Syz has built a reputation as one of the UKs most distinctive club producers, weaving playful, percussive techno with soundsystem-driven bass music.

Much of this acclaim started with 2020’s Mindforms - a self-released mini-LP which saw the young producer step away from the dancefloor to explore an expansive sonic world, ‘balancing the tranquility of the ecological world with the immediacy of the digital one’.

The original  release was accompanied by a highly limited run of just 10 dubplates. Deeming this 6-tracker too good not to receive a proper pressing, Control Freak are proud to present the first ever complete vinyl run for Mindforms.

Alongside the record, Syz & Control Freak have curated Clubforms, a collection of remixes from some of our favourite producers, each bringing the original release firmly onto the dancefloor with their own production flourishes.

And here we go, far out and yet so near, the third edition of “Risks Issues Opportunities” brings frontier reverberations scratching at the edges of dance, pop, downbeat, and other trance- portive sectors. Eight fast/slow propelling tracks. Adventurous, full of grandeur, gratifying the dance floor while equally winning the relaxation zones. Pure emotions crafted by newcomers. There is Milan’s Tagliabue, trancing slow and insightful. Or Cologne’s Grischerr, eloquently Tolouse-Low-Traxing. Some go down the slow burning road, where rhythms hang low, and suspense is in full show. Like London’s Frank Rodas, Garnu Depot from Iran, or Xei Ju from the islands of Micronesia, striking all ears with ghostly transcendental percussive science. An autumnally global voyage, which likewise offers industrialized districts by Italian producer Federico Cassetta, Metropolis minimal wave pop by Japanese musician Saeko Killy, or odd swamp funk by Chilean/German duo 7697 Miles. They all show, how far you can go, without losing your distinct flow.

Grischerr - Wreak Havoc

Following "How To Make Good Music and Be A Happy Person", an album of early unreleased tracks dropped in November, 2022, Canadian producer Hrdvsion returns with "Captivated Heart: Remixed", a collection of remixes.

This new EP features reworks from carefully selected artists such as SHE Spells Doom, efemme, Sinistarr, Nathan Fake, Shanx and themselves as Hrdvsiovsivosvsiosvin. All remixers offer their very own version of the original track taken from Hrdvsion’s critically acclaimed second album "Where Did You Just Go?", released in 2010 on Wagon Repair.

Dr. Brian B. Waves' guide to the destruction of heavenly bodies involves seven steps, three of which we've laid out below. As for the rest? You'll have to discover them for yourselves.

1. Observe, analyse, take action and neutralise the external defence systems before infiltration.

2. Dismantle the governance structures and remove all charismatic leaders from positions of power by means of public executions. Expect resistance from the underground, do not let it foment, break it at its core and assume the position of the dominator.

3. Create panic within the resistance’s ranks within the shortest delay possible and ensure a large amount of feedback in order to crush the possibility of a future generation of rebels. The acid triplet motion is a useful technique to achieve this goal. 

Geneva's Brainwaves crew are launching into 2021 with a release from label mate Weith, who returns to the imprint for the second time following 2019's Obsidian EP. Following releases for Concrete Collage, Wirebox, and more recently Brokntoys and non-profit label Touched, on the aptly named DOOMSDAY Weith brings seven tracks that touch on different influences, from IDM, electro and acid to breaks, rave and techno.
