Our final Free Music Monday North American Takeover is from the amazing Stone's Throw Record's MC/rapper Jonwayne. Fresh out of high school, Jonwayne emerged alongside the new generation of Hip Hop beat-makers: Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, Nosaj Thing and Daedelus at the Los Angeles club Low End Theory. First, he kicked up a stir producing homemade mix tapes before he caught the attention of Stone's Throw and was signed to record an album as an MC. This exclusive track has a 90s vibe with a verse from Oliver the 2nd and we are SO excited to share it with you!

Persona unveils the murderer’s row that is the Mello roster of 2015. Oddisee, Apollo Brown, yU, L'Orange, Red Pill, Open Mike Eagle, Rapper Big Pooh, Quelle Chris. The stars of the present teamed with timeless innovators like Phonte (Little Brother), Blockhead, Ras Kass, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Oh No, Masta Ace, and Bilal Salaam. The result is something that binds current greats with the pioneers who paved the asphalt. It’s both a historical moment and hard as hell.
 
If most compilations are nothing more than a loosely thrown together collection of songs, Persona boasts meticulous focus. These aren’t spare tracks, they’re potent messages and poisonous darts. “Requiem” finds Phonte and Oddisee indicting American racism and Xenophobia with fury and precision. On “Homicide,” yU and Nottz leave blood dripping all over the canvas. There’s “Celebrity Reduction Prayer,” where Open Mike Eagle lampoons fundamentalists and religious zealots over Oddisee’s warm Stevie Wonder keyboards.
 
But there’s ultimately no need to do the track-by-track breakdown. This is an anthology in the most traditional well-curated sense. Turn here if you want to find the best hip-hop artists of their generation in raw and unfiltered form. The bars are brimstone; the beats force your neck to swivel. Through all the discontent, rays of hope begin to emerge. If you remember the feeling you got when you first heard Soundbombing, stop searching. Our recent excursion to Russia - as part of the Stay True series with Ballantine’s Scotch Whiskey - proved bountiful for a number of reasons. Not only because it jammed some of the nation's finest boom bap reps together with a hand-picked selection of America's similarly-inclined elite. But also because it was a tour engulfed in genuine, raucous energy. Relationships were formed and a genuine companionship emerged between the heads involved.
 
 So the story goes that DJ Premier spent a few days in the studio alongside St. Petersburg's BMB Spacekid and one half of LA-based funksters NxWorries, Anderson .Paak. The result of their combined wizardry is "Til It's Done" - a headnodding joyride through electro-funk characterised by a hip-hop drum kit underbelly and topped by Anderson's ever-capable vocal acrobatics.
